Ethan

Whitney goes running past me, obviously upset, and I have half a mind to chase after her and ask what's wrong. Knowing that she probably doesn't want to see me or speak with me, I keep my pace and look down at the path below me.

Whit

It starts to rain and I just let it, wanting to get wet.

Ethan

It starts raining and I find her sitting before a tree. Sighing and looking up at the sky, I stop and hesitate before taking my jacket off and setting it over her head. I sit at her side, keeping my distance, but say nothing.

Whit

I glance over at Ethan and study him, "What...what are you doing?"

Ethan

I look down and shrug, picking at the grass, "I'm an idiot... I don't even know."

Whit

"I can agree with you there..." I mutter, taking his jacket off me and handing it back, "Here."

Ethan

I flash a smile and take my jacket, draping it over her again, "Just... accept the help. I won't say anything more."

Whitney

I study him, "You do realize what your getting yourself into...by doing this, right?" I ask, raising an eyebrow, "By talking to me..."

Ethan

I look at her, "By talking to you... I don't know if I completely understand."

Whit

I sigh, "Nevermind," I look down, shaking my head.

Ethan

I study her, "No... what?"

Whit

I shake my head again, "Nothing."

Ethan

I sigh before looking away, "Okay then... You mind me asking what happened?"

Whit

I glance up at him, "He...he broke up with me," I say, "I don't even know why."

Ethan

I nod and study her, "His loss."
