The head person calls me up and I stand, putting my hair in a ponytail before walking up to his desk, "Yes?"

"there's a case over on 15th Street. A girl got murdered, and there are people surrounding the scene. I need you and Mr. Will to go and look at it."

I glance over at the new guy and sigh, "Him?"

He nods and I get a pen and paper before walking by "Will's" desk, "C'mon new man. We gotta murderer to bust."

Ethan

That voice...

I glance up at her and try to place it to a memory, not able to surface one right away. Confused, I stand and follow her only to realize it after passing her desk. Her name tag...

Whitney

I'm just about to push open the doors when the head detective calls me.

"Whit!" He calls, holding up something.

I turn around, "Yeah?"

"Forgot your gun," He chuckles.

I nod and bite my bottom lip like I always do before taking it and flashing a smile, "Thanks."

He nods and I try it again, walking out to the station car.

Ethan

Oh no. There goes my cover. Looks like I won't be staying here long after all. Sh*t... I liked this name some too.

I inwardly groan and follow her out the door, hoping to God my orange contacts and brown hair would keep enough of a disguise up.

Whitney

I get in the drivers seat and wait for the guy to come before starting the car and following the directions.

"Name's Whitney," I simply say, "Yours?"

Ethan

I get in the car and hesitate before answering her, "Will."

Whitney

I take a full look at him before my face goes pale, and I stop the car, getting a better look, "Wait...wait a second..."

Ethan

I look away, cursing mentally, and set a hand on my forehead, "Please keep going. Either that or let me out. I don't want to deal with confrontation."

Whitney

I swallow and shake my head, "Just...get out then. I don't want to talk to you anyways. Go," I simply say, looking foward at the traffic.

Ethan

I hesitate before opening the car door and shaking my head, walking wherever.

Whit

What the f*ck is he doing here? Why...ugh!

I drive back to the station and walk inside, handing the slip over, "I'm not feeling good. Have someone else do the job."

"Where's Will?" He asks.

"Will is taking a walk," I say, shaking my head and stepping outside. I call my boyfriend to come pick me up and cross my arms, shocked and stunned.

Ethan

I shake my head at myself and walk to the park, sitting at a bench and looking out at the lake. What now? Do I stick around or would she tell?

Whitney

Chris picks me up and we decide to take a walk at the park. Holding hands, he leads me through the path and I smile, a blindfold covering my eyes, "Where are we going?"

"just wait..." he says, just scooping me up and carrying me to a tree by the lake. He takes off my blindfold and reveals Both our names are carved on it, Whit + Chris = <3

I smile at it and shake my head at him, kissing him quickly, "S'True."

Ethan

I spot her with another guy and I get up and start walking away before she can see me, not wanting to deal with it.

Whit

He drowns after that and I look at him, "What?"

"I have to tell you something..." he says, "Don't get mad."

I nod slowly, and he lets go of his hand, "I think we should breakup."

"What?!" I ask, taking a step back.

"Whit..." He tries to step closer and I shake my head, "No. Fine. Whatever," Imutter before storming off in the opposite direction.

"Whitney!" he calls after me.

I ignore him and start running, dropping by a tree and taking a deep breath.
