I have no idea about photography, besides tech club in 5th grade ;), but this is really good! It makes me think what she's thinking, what the story of her life is... also what she thinks about being on YWS! :)

Hello, I am AspiringAuthorA..M. and shall be your reviewer for tonight.

I like how you have the environment around the girl as being dirty and generally a place where a child should not be in.

I have seen a considerable amount of poor people throughout my life. It is always a heart-wrenching sight. People on the side of the road begging for money, sometimes drug money. People who wipe car windows with dirty toothbrushes hoping to get paid. One time when I was in the car with my parents a homeless man practically pounced on the cars hood and began scrubbing the windshield with a worn toothbrush. I have never been able to get that moment out of my mind.

I like the color tone of your picture. It's wise that you didn't use black and white, as that is more suiting for the time of the Great Depression. Gray tone is depressing, no?

Keep the photography coming.

Wow! I really like this picture! The amber color gives it an almost ancient feel to it, like there's a mystery surrounding this photograph. And the way you can hardly make out her eye make's her look almost inhuman (In no way ment to be offensive, I like it) And the way she's so vulnerably crouched make's you want to give her a hug.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Pass-

I actually really like this picture! I'm all for the "dramatic not looking at the camera" photo, and this is definitely that. I love the color tone of the photo, and you really did a pretty decent job with the photo shopping elements.

The only thing I would suggest is to let up on the softening a bit--at least on the girl. She just seems a little too blurry. The background being that blurry is fine, but I just feel like I'd like to see her a bit more in focus.

Great work!

This photo is rather adorable, I must say, and I so very love the sepia tone you've chosen. To me, sepia just screams, you know, classic/romantic/touching. The title implies the part about touching.
She looks so young...
Hey, I think from at least this piece that you have a grasp on photography that, as hard as I try, I never have achieved... keep taking pictures!!

This is a good picture to use. I didn't know it would be your little sister, but it is capturing of the topic because the color tone you used and the your sister's expression. I like the effect from shadowed areas...and I really wish I could use photo shop right now...the picture did come out good with it. I like the picture. You can see the story through the little girl's eyes. Well, nice job! :]
