Susan Reyana Danvers

Return to A Day Can Last Forever

Creator: KateHardy
Roleplay: A Day Can Last Forever
Nickname: Susie

Name: Susan Reyana Danvers aka The Phantom
Age: 17
Pronouns: she/her

Appearance: She's around 5' 2". Her skin is rather pale, forever a reminder of her years spent as a ghost unable to really feel the effect of the sun. She has red hair bright enough to used as a traffic light and startling blue eyes. There is also a slight shimmer to her almost as if she is glitching in and out of the world.
SuperSuit: Her suit resembles a large one piece jumpsuit. A gift from a friend she never talks about, this suit can turn itself invisible at the press of a button. Normally it is a bright white, with a stylized P emblazoned across the chest. It has two holsters on the side that contain two small L shaped inserts. She also has a rotating wrist holster that seemingly contains three different pens. On her head, she wears a pair of glasses that appear to be sunglasses with very dark frames and a heads up display that's just barely noticeable from the outside. Her hands do have fairly normal looking high friction gloves. Her footwear consists of what appears to be a standard issue pair of self lacing shoes from the early 2200's.
Temporal Signature: The darkness and the light colliding. A mirror. A dark forest without wind. The dark reaches of empty space. A single bright light that glitches in and out of existence. The smell of the very end of winter.
Relative Powers: None given she is technically a human.
Special Powers: She's slightly faster than most members of her species, and her stamina almost never seems to run out. She has the ability to manipulate the tangibility and visibility of her body allowing her to go fully invisible and intangible or solid enough to stop a charging tank.
Weapon: She carries three weapons. Two standard issue sidearms holstered at her sides. These are electric based non lethal weapons that are designed to lock onto a target and fire a homing projectile that will follow them for up to two miles, delivering a variable electric shock on impact depending on the voltage the intelligent system in the weapons decide will be enough to incapacitate the target. It has its limitations when the targets get bigger and bigger or more resistant to electric attack.

Her third weapon is a dagger. She's very close mouthed about how she came into possession of that weapon, but it is the one thing she owns which can become just as intangible and invisible as her. Its a rather large weapon with a blade that's eighteen inches long making it practically a short sword in susan's hands. The blade is an dull grey with the metal its made of seemingly able to change color based on its location appearing as a brilliant white in hotter areas and a cool blue in colder areas. The handle is as intricate as it is durable and its clearly not made of wood despite its looks. There's a stylized grip made of a leather from a source she refuses to mention, and engraved on the handguard is a stylized JRH. The pommel contains a tiny white stone. It appears to not be a precious metal but Susan treats it like it was a full sized diamond in how much she's protective of it. The dagger is capable of absorbing some level of magic from its immediate surroundings although it doesn't appear able to harness said energy in battle.

Combat Style: Susan specializes in intelligence gathering and mostly defense. She's the one sneaking into corners and places no one can reach or being a physical barrier while others escape or attack around her.

If forced into offense she has two modes of attack. If she doesn't know what she's dealing with, she will go invisible, trying to scout the area out and land a finishing blow or find the best way to escape. If she is aware she will try to strengthen herself and attack head on, also intent on landing a finishing blow. She can maintain her strengthened form long enough for a decent battle in this fashion but she doesn't employ this too often because it does leave her more drained that most other ways she knows and her real strength lies in playing the long game in her invisible form.

Personality: Susan was and likely always be a bit of a cinnamon roll but she's not who she once was thanks to her history. She is a bit of an adorable mess around most people but she has a very carefully calibrated internal compass now. She's seen enough not trust everyone at first glance and to be able to generally read someone's character. She is always going to amicable to absolutely everyone even if they've just threatened to kill her but she knows to keep the dangerous ones at arms length. She likes to see the best in the world, despite having seen it at its worst and very rarely if ever loses her composure. She also has a tendency to just never give up.
Personal Strengths: She has never been one to give up, and she likely never will. She's also gotten really good at reading at reading people and keeping her composure when things are being destroyed around her.
Personal Weaknesses: She tends to go a little too out of her way to avoid conflict. She's also sometimes a bit too self sacrificing to the point of being a little bit harmful, a habit of her past.

Backstory: Susie was born to a normal middle class family in a nice quiet seaside town on Earth 27 in the early 2200's. It was a normal life and a pretty happy one. Earth 27 is about as close as one gets to a real utopia and there was really not too much going on. The first seventeen years of her life were very normal and very simple, her main problems being homework and her crushes that her sister kept teasing her about.

This all changed however on one otherwise very normal afternoon where Susie, her sister and her her sister's girlfriend were killed off in a freak accident caused by a very unfortunate meteorite accident. For most people this is where there story stops. It's a heartbreaking accident, but one you can't do much about. Except this one was special.

This particular meteorite was sent on its course by a chain reaction that happens hundreds of thousands of miles away when a timeship that wasn't meant to be where it was knocked another very different asteroid off course with its engine exhaust. It was a temporal anomaly. Normally this wasn't that big of a deal, but this time it spread into something that threatened to literally break time itself.

All of this happening around her meant Susan and her two sisters were trapped in a limbo between life and death before they were rescued by Jennifer herself. Their situation being an incredibly unique one they were put through several trials to be able to qualify to return back to life thanks to an archaic law that had never been changed which was in fact one of Kate's more pranky ideas. Behind the scenes a team from the Alpha Pack was responsible for discovering this anomaly and patching along with a whole bunch of others.

Susan herself was part of this effort due to her trials where she in a horrifying accident that almost deleted her from existence was rendered to a position where her physical form was permanently in flux. WIth some behind the scenes magic Jennifer and Kate gave her the ability to manipulate her form and turn this flux into an actual superpower that would serve her well. Over the span of three decades where technically time never passed allowing her to remain seventeen she would master these powers alongside her sisters and complete seven very dangerous trials before finally earning her place back to Earth.

She returned to life, at the same moment she died, with the only memory of the past three decades being a horrifying nightmare and a power set she somehow could control out of instinct, remembering nothing about where exactly she acquired it. Its been an interesting transition for her since then. All three of them were changed that day as people in ways that so far no one they've tried has managed to explain but they've taken it in stride, the three of them going on to help out local low enforcement regularly since that day. Its only been a few months, and when this opportunity came knocking all three of them stood up for it. Only Susan ended up being chosen and they hope that one of the figures on board with the supposed ability to see through time can help them.

Reason for Joining this Adventure: Susie is on the hunt for someone that can help with her missing past and mysterious power. Its not just for her but also for her sister and her sister's girlfriend who seem to have gone through a similar fate.
Any Prior Experience with Time Travel or Being a Superhero: Yes, but no. She has technically had over thirty years of experience as a superhero and it will show somewhat in command of her powers through sheer muscle memory. As far as current experience goes, its about three months that she remembers properly. As for time travel, she's done that before too, but not any that she remembers.
Any Fears or Concerns: She's rather worried that her reason for joining might turn out to be something that sees her kicked out due to it being something that's too selfish. She thinks they might look down on her for it.

Other: Lesbian Disasterâ„¢. As a side effect of being dead for so long, her body having been infused with a little too much of what surrounds that world, she needs to eat and drink far less than normal, also giving her an inhumanly high endurance. The issue of course is the more she lives, the less this affects her, so as she goes on her body will get more human.
