Valerin vys Arden

Return to Myth Arisen

Creator: ScarlettFire
Roleplay: Myth Arisen
Nickname: Val

Name: Valerin vys Arden.
Age: He looks barely 18 but is really far, far older (and the oldest of the immortals besides the one who entombed them).
Gender: Male.

Race: Fey'ri.

Role: The Battle Mage.

Appearance: Valerin stands at about 6ft tall with mid-back black-purple hair and blue-violent eyes with a pair of horns curling back over the top of his head--they're almost the same colour as his hair. He has pale skin and an average build, and there is a set of four parallel scars curling down over his left eye and check, cutting through the eyebrow and just snagging the corner of his mouth. There are a few thick braids in his hair, held together with beautiful, engraved gold clasps and threaded through with gold beads and various other ornamentation.

Personality: Val is a stubborn man, stuck in his ways but not above seeing that change can be a good thing. He feels as though he is learning new things all the time, though he alreadys knows so very many things. Mostly, he just feels old and lonely, almost hollow on the inside. Val has spent many centuries drifting and never quite fitting in anywhere he settles. It doesn't help that eventually, they notice he doesn't...quite age properly or he's meddling with forces he shouldn't--like forebidden Arcane magics that had mostly before forgotten or banned sigalweavings--and he is often reject by them, thrown out of homes he's spent centuries in. He's usually pretty quiet and he can be kind, but he's mostly just a sad, grumpy old man with short temper and an eighteen-year-old's pretty face. Don't be fooled, though; he's the eldest of the five immortals.
- Strengths: He can be flexible, he can be kind and he's very open to learning new things and experiencing them, (if you're nice to him first), can be thoughtful when he feels like it, actualyl a surprising good teacher if he's in the right mood for teaching.
- Weaknesses: Stubborn, sad, old habits die hard, full of bad habits and sometimes bad advice, lonely as hell, feels old as hell, doesn't feel like he fits in anywhere, total outsider, quiet, can be scary as heck if he loses his temple and then his magic (he's a battle mage for a reason).

Magic: He's a battle mage, so a lot of his arcane magic is related to offensive and Area-Of-Effect spells, such as bringing a lightning storm down in a ten foot circle around him to hurt his enemies or throwing one enemy (or more) away from him.

History: Valerin was born in a large city that once occupied a sheltered spot along the coast in the Great Western Desert area of Asturia. His father was an Elf Lord and he has no idea who his mother was. Raised as Elvish Nobility and enrolled into the mage-city Raj Mahija's academy at a young age, he became a powerful and respected Battle Mage.

At least, until he died on the battlefield during a way one day and didn't stay dead.

Feared as the creation of a necromancer, Val was scorned and thrown out the army. He landed on his feet, though, and set to wandering and has been ever since, sometimes encountering Siofra or one of his descendants and sometimes being discovered and kicked out of whatever little village or town he'd settled in.

Then one day, a few thousand years ago, he and four others were bespelled into a deep, dreamless sleep and sealed away in an ancient tomb in the middle of the Great Western Desert and they remain there still, recently awakened by the resurrection of another like them.

Up For Love: Not really; he still has a thing for Siofra, the elf woman he originally fell in love with. But if someone were to catch his eye... He's very bi and appreciates both genders, no matter the ancestry they have.

Other: He's one of Loren's ancestors.

i like that the title of dr jekyll and mr hyde makes a clear stance that the embodiment of one’s own evil doesn’t get a claim to the doctorate
