While this is certainly something to be wary of, it won't affect YWS and likely won't have much effect on other social media. 4chan has said it would do things like this in the past, but rarely follows through with it.

Still, here's a post about what you can do to prepare for it if you use platforms like Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr:

at this point, i’m constantly fluctuating between being happy and unhappy. i’m happy because right now, i’m working three jobs, keeping busy, and i’m on the way to being in a relationship. but, i’m unhappy because of the life that we live in right now is so stressful. the political climate is so intense right now and the world is a scary place to live in. i’m tired of feeling stressed every time i read the news and i wish life would be back to normal. regardless, i am trying to keep myself happy and healthy. i hope that if you are struggling, you are trying to look at the positives to the life you live because life is what you make of it. you are in control of the good days and the bad days. you are in control of the life you live, so make it great.

Love The world isn't particularly scary, the news just makes it look that way. I'd recommend to stop reading news much, I find it's bad for mental health

i wrote this poem as a mark for who i am. i wrote this poem for anyone that is in a dark place. i wrote this poem for anyone who is struggling to find themselves. i wrote this poem for everyone who is strong to come forward and share who they are. i wrote this poem because i want to let you know that you are loved.

a question for all of the poets: where do you find your inspiration when writing poetry?

Que For me, it’s mostly emotional content! But a lot of times I’m inspired by nature or even poetry forms that I want to try out. (I’ve been writing a ton of poems about stars/constellations this year because it’s a part of nature that has a lot of depth for me, plus it has a lot of memories and feelings associated with it so I keep finding more aspects to write about)

alliyah For me it's memories and emotions! I also keep a little journal with me where I write down anything I hear / see that is poetic throughout the day, and sometimes that lends me some inspiration if I'm feeling stuck.

Morrigan I have a note on my phone titled "fragments" and I type down anything that catches my brain. It's not always exactly what inspires me, but it's a good jumping-off point, generally speaking. Like if I write down "30 limes. No more. No less," I'm not going to write a poem about limes, but I might write it about the party I was attending when I heard that uttered.

Lavvie Memories/emotions - which is tough at the moment. I also have a small journal where I write lines/images that come to mind & also interesting words. That's particularly useful nowadays when not a whole lot is happening because I can refer to the journal if I'm feeling stuck.

rainforest i love all of these answers! as of lately, i’ve really had trouble finding inspiration for different topics. i’m getting tired of writing about the same things and i want to venture out and grow more versatile when it comes to writing poetry.
