Im starting high school august 1st and Ima be joining the cross country team. However the coaches(one of them's a friend of mine and Ive known since kindergarten) are having summer practice. I don't know how I'll live thru 2 maybe three months of this!(Im also one of the only two going to be freshmen)

I'm not sure what you meant by format, but from what I understand, so long as it's in story form, it doesn't matter how the story is told. I just happen to like writing from the third-person limited point of view. If you have an idea for the contest, there's no reason why you can't enter; even if you don't win or place, at least you'll get a story out of it, and you'll have more of a chance of winning than if you don't enter at all.
