I already can't handle my calculus class and we're not even to the calculus part yet. I'm just lying here in bed, thinking about the problems on the homework that I couldn't figure out. I'm already so overwhelmed.

Holysocks You got this <3 don't be afraid to ask for help! And even if there's no one in your life that can't help with that, I'm sure there's someone on the site that could! (Don't look at me though, math is my weakest weakness) I know it's tough: I had the most horrid time getting through math courses and stuff (at least I THINK calculus is math.. .?). But you can do it <3

inktopus Thanks. I just need to be willing to get a less than ideal grade. I always try to get an A no matter how stressful it is. Maybe I should just be okay with a B, if that's how it will turn out.

Mea Calculus is rough. But honestly, once I understood it, I thought it was super cool. But getting there is rough. About 80% of it is just algebra/trig, so maybe if you're not super confident with areas of those you could try to go back and review them more? What specific types of problems were you having trouble with?

And definitely, don't stress yourself out too much about trying to get an A. It's not worth it 90% of the time. <3

Atticus I've been there too (not with calculus), and even though it doesn't feel like it at the time, you're not stuck. You're still making progress, but progress isn't linear, and it isn't a steady motion. You might be running at some points in your calculus journey, and other times you might be crawling. Like everyone else has been saying, 1) ask for help from someone who understands the material, 2) accept that this is hard, 3) understand that you are capable of doing this, and 4) be okay with whatever grade trying your best brings you.

I've gotten into 2/3 colleges I'm planning on applying to. The last one still hasn't opened for applications, so I have to wait (it's so annoying. I'm just glad it's not my top choice.) I'm planning on 3 for 3 because they're not super prestigious schools, but I have gotten some decent scholarships already, so that's exciting.

inktopus Just the whole reaction to season 7. The show doesn’t owe its fans certain ships. And, I mean, I wish the rep would have been more explicit too, but they barely even managed to push Shiro's sexuality through. No one deserves to be harrassed. And when it comes down to it Voltron is a mecha show anyway. Romance isn't the genre

ScarlettFire Oh god, tell me about it. I’m still in the process of watching season 7, but there’s a few fanfic writers who’re totally OTT crazy upset about the representation and I’m like ???. I saw Adam and Shiro in episode one and that was cool. Adam seems interesting.

I also wish they’d calm down a little. ~~it’s not like s7 is gonna affect how I’m writing my fanfic anyway lol~~

inktopus 10. Ughh. Well, I'm not really a fan of romantic movies, so this is a toughie. We'll just pretend that The Princess Bride is a romantic movie. OH, or Bridesmaids, that's a surprisingly good movie.

For my novel class here at camp, I wrote the first page. The teacher has really pushed me not to overthink and just believe in my ability to portray these characters, and it's surprising how much that's helped. I know my characters so well now, and I'm actually happy with the beginning.

Also, I repped us to the whole class (12 people, but still)!! I'm super excited to start writing this story and get it down on paper.

Mea That's awesome! Sounds like a really good teacher.

Update: I did not reach 40k, but through the power of sheer spite (and Fighter's Block), I managed to get to 36k.

Also, I just finished packing for my writing summer camp thing I'm going to tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Mea Honestly spite is the best motivator to get yourself to actually write. Just sheer defiance at the universe and at your story. xD Good luck at the camp!
