She was carried along by the crowd, but it seemed that the crowd themselves was carried by clouds. Wind and fog swept their feet, rain pattering the soles of their shoes, and it felt liuke she was walking on air.
Joanna sighed and checked her watch. It was five minutes until her next meeting, and she might be fired if she didn't make progress on building up the summer showers. The eat had been in a drought, and it was all pinned on her, despite her manager's lazy actions of not taking records of the water vault.
She raced up a waterfall escalator and landed softly ion a cumulonimbus cloud, jumping softly as small dparks of lightning touched her feet. She sighed, grabbing the sparks and breaking them before enetering the meeting hall. A tall droplet with broad shoulders stood at the end, scowling at her as the other members took their places.
"Interns," he growled. I should have known you would be lkate.
"I'm... I'm not late," I wheezed, pulling out my chair., Another member kicked it and I tripped, catching myself before I fell on the fluffy ground. Everyone chuckled.
"You know what's worse, boss?" a droplet asked, flicking a little bolt off his shoulder. "She's human. A natural killer of the sky."
"Don't be ridiculous, Aquarius!" the large droplet lauhghed. "It's her first week. She's just onb a bit of a... bumpy streak."
"If I fix that streak, will I have any chance at getting my powers?" Joanna asked, setting her bag down on a water disk. The droplet bit his watery lip, licking it as it burst and drained.
"That's... Not probable..." he sighed. "You simply lack elegance to get powers, Joanna. I haven't seen any responsibility from you...
