About flyinginvisible

Confined to a notebook and Microsoft Word, I'm living in a shell. It's hard to open up, even fiction that's kind of not fiction, even run-ons I know are run-ons, and even poems to complete strangers. Judge me harshly because I am my own worst enemy. I dare you to beat me with that.

Poetry is my cheap means of transportation. By the end of the poem the reader should be in a different place from where he started. I would like him to be slightly disoriented at the end, like I drove him outside of town at night and dropped him off in a cornfield.
— Billy Collins
