  • My Cake Day came and went a little while back and I'm in awe that I joined YWS three whole years ago. It's been a ride, friends.

  • I know he's already Featured Member, but I want to go ahead and give out a personal shout-out to @Hattable. Honestly, he's one of the first friends I made on YWS and he's amazing. Master of silly MSPaint drawings, one of my favorite friends to play with in DnD, extremely stylish human being, helpful reviewer and writer of many amazing works prose and poetry--I'm so glad to have met him.

That's only the surface, too. He's a great person and friend who will listen to your problems and is incredibly caring and I'm so thankful that YWS exists because like many of my friends on YWS, I may have never met him otherwise. YWS's greatest gift for me personally is the people you meet on the site and I'm so grateful for Hatt.

There's so much more that needs to be said about him, but I'll leave the post at that. I thought I'd make a post dedicated to somebody on the site this morning and I immediately knew who I'd dedicate that post to. You're amazing, Hatt. Stay that way.

  • I want everyone to know that my first idea for a name change is Kayla but the lowercase 'L' was a capital 'I' but the 'I' on YWS looks different from the lowercase 'L'. This is partly because regular Kayla is taken and also because I have chaotic evil tendencies.

I planned to tell nobody about the difference and then I'd make everyone tag a YWSer who joined in 2008. My first plans were foiled, ruined and torn apart by the capital 'I', but this name's pretty dang sweet too.

Arcticus Nikayla was way more sonorous but Kaylaa sounds pretty cool as well.

  • If I woke up a waterbender personally, I'd waterbend large amounts of pink lemonade into my mouth.

TheSilverFox I'd love to do that, but with hot chocolate instead.

April is National Poetry Writing Month, where poets (or aspiring poets) set out to write 30 poems in 30 days... or less, if that's all they can do!

NaPo's almost here, people! If you have a thread and you're doing NaPo, awesome! If you don't, why not? Do NaPo! Do the thing.

  • 3:00am cliffs

Wrote my first poem in a long time. I'm happy to be writing again and I'm excited for both NaPo and April Madness although school-wise, I fully expect to be crushed by homework and testing since April's always the most difficult month of the year in that regard.

Great to be back on YWS!

soundofmind glad to have you backkkkkk

Yo, totally check this out if you have any little questions that you think are too little to warrant a whole thread!

Have fun writing and researching, everybody!

  • Well, I'm back for real this time, folks. How's everyone been? I have to catch up on the novels I've been following because I'm behind and since both spring break and NaPo are coming up, I'm back.

    How's everybody?

soundofmind I'm doing okay!! So happy to have you back, Kays! :)

  • First of all, thanks @alliyah for tagging me to do this!

    Secondly, my #ThreeFavoriteMovies

1.) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    2.) Princess Mononoke
    3.) Juno

These three aren't necessarily my absolute favorite movies ever but those are three I enjoy and came to mind. The first and third aren't as re-watchable as other movies in my mind? I've seen both a couple of times but I think of neither as a movie that I'd want to sit down and relax to, if that makes sense.

  • The new aesthetic's from @alliyah after she valiantly beat @LadyLizz and I in a reviewing contest over the course of Review Day. The stakes were a complete redesign of the others' profiles, and she won! I loved the competition and my new avatar/banner/background are all lovely! I'm sure Lizz's will be changed accordingly in due time as well. The contest's been fun, you two. Awesome job to everyone this Review Day as well, I'll add. You were all great!

alliyah <3 <3 <3 Looking spiffy Kays! :D It was a privilege to duel the both of you!

  • Hi there everybody! I know that with 130+ works sitting in the Green Room right now there's a demand for reviews and I wanted to say--the Will Review For Food forum exists! Basically, if you didn't know or perhaps forgot, the Will Review For Food forum (also known as the WRFF) is a place where reviews can be requested.

Requests can be made in a specific thread. For example, say you've enjoyed a certain reviewer's feedback in the past and want to request a review or you've seen a reviewer around and that person owns a WRFF thread, you can request a review from said person there! There's also the General Request Repository although the former lets you pick who you want to request from and is more common.

    Speaking of WRFF threads,
here's my own WRFF that's open to requests! Finally, for those who aren't needing a literary work reviewed and don't have a WRFF thread already, why not create one? Here are the rules and guidelines of the WRFF and in that thread you can read about how to make your own thread or how to make a request in another's thread.

Happy writing and reviewing as always!

That's right -- the great and wonderful Oz!

    Wait, no. It's just me.

Anyway, look out for some possible events coming up in the future. They may have something to do with 100WD...and there may be prizes associated.

I am so proud of all y'all!
