Okay, so I have two sibling characters that I'm writing for... Vanessa and Cyril. And if you did a double take on those two names, YES. I totally ripped their core characters from my story, tweaked them a bit and TA DA, they are now LSS characters.

And AHHHH. How to describe it??? For tsunami week, I get to set up their meeting, which like. When my book series starts out, Nessa is dead and Cyrus is just reeling from the loss while trying to keep it together. But, in LSS, Cyril and Vanessa both still alive.

So like, on one hand, YAY!!! I love these characters. In my series, Nessa's loss is legitimately a tragedy because it is one of the catalysts that sends Cyrus spinning out of control since she was kind of the one who helped him stay the course and remind him not to do anything stupid. So, with her dead, Cyrus doesn't do very well.

But also, writing for LSS... it's kind of bittersweet because I get to write a reunion for the two characters! But like... they're not particularly happy to meet up with each other because Vanessa is wary of her brother (for good reason!!) because he was in prison. Since then, she's made a life for herself and she doesn't really want him to crash in and ruin it all, just like he usually does. And Cyril is kind of... well... hesitant because after prison, he's really hard on his luck and now knows that he took too many things for granted, including his sister's good will and he is like, "Have I crossed the line too many times?" Which like... VALID because Vanessa is legitimately grumpy with him. But also... maybe there's a chance of forgiveness???

Forgiveness is a recurring theme in Book 4... like, the question is, is repentance even possible for the worst sinner ever? But also, I am pleased that this theme is happening for LSS too, though in a much milder way. Though, TRUST ME, it's still going to be epic.

And just!!! I have a bunch of scenes plotted out in my head where they meet with each other and it's going to be SO EPIC and I want to write it out so badly! I feel like I'm writing a fanfic of my story, honestly, in an alternate reality where Nessa is still alive, which honestly makes me feel a little silly because who writes a fanfic of their work? (Me, lol.) But also, my book series is so intense and Nessa's loss, though hardly mentioned in the series, is such... a tragedy in itself, so like. Just working on a timeline where she is alive and helps straighten out her brother just makes me happy.

But also... apparently, we need to rest, because last week alone, I wrote over 13k words for LSS and that is an insane amount and I should probably do other things... like work on Book 4. XD

BUT ALSO!!!! I want to desperately see them be reunited. That is my tsunami goal... to have them reunite. Because that would make me so happy. <3

NEXT WEEK!!!!

...for this week, I should really work on Book 4. XD *pokes*

- We've pickled 11 quarts of pickles.

- Made 6 pints of blackberry jam.

- Made about six months worth of tomato sauce... and there are still so many tomatoes left.

- Have more than half a dozen pumpkins growing everywhere.

- Blanched and frozen several gallon bags worth of green beans and peas.

- Dug out five pounds of potatoes... so far. (We have a lot more plants to dig out!)

- Dried out several pounds of garlic.

- Pick the apples (we have a LOT of apple trees everywhere). Some of them, we want to can as apple pie filling and apple sauce. Some of them, we want to bake into pies directly! The rest? We want to turn it into cider. :3

- Keep making tomato sauce because, again... SO MANY TOMATOES. (Did I mention that we have more than thirty plants of tomatoes? It is A LOT. Though, I also want several cans of salsa.

- One more jar of pickles to get the late cucumbers! (We love pickles in our family, lol.)

- Pick onions and chop and freeze them.

- Plant garlic (it's a plant you start in the fall).

- Dig out the rest of the potatoes.

- Harvest the (tiny) bell peppers that we have and dig out the pepper plants to overwinter them inside before first frost kills them.

- Put mulch over what remains of the strawberries (darn deer...) before first frost.
