Hello :^) what r u writing these days

    Que Hi!! How's it going?
Lol I am mostly writing articles for work which can be a lot, but I am trying to keep up some poetry on the side!
I keep seeing you post poems on your wall ahh and I haven't had time to read them yet, but hopefully will in the next few days! You always craft such neat poems and songs and I really enjoy them.
I think I forgot to comment on your NaPo Week thread after it wrapped up, but I loved reading everything you wrote for that! The poems seemed so thoughtfully written and made me feel so many things. <3

  • Because I use CDs a lot more than Spotify, and I'm just a little bit crazy, I kept a year-long list of almost every album I've listened to. XD So from that, here's my most-listened-to artists by the number of albums I've listened to since January:

    Alan Parsons Project
    Death Cab For Cutie
    Dan Fogelberg
    Fleet Foxes
    Cortex
    Francis Cabrel
    Velocity

I stumbled upon Fleet Foxes' album of the same name only like last month and it was pretty much the best thing I've heard all year so it gets an extra honorary mention for me listening to it about 6 times through in a month. XD

    Ljungtroll Another Alan Parsons fan!!

    Hey everyone!

A lot’s been going on for YWS’s 20th birthday, so I wanted to bring your attention to a YWS literary and art collection that you can take part in!

We’d love to see your poems, short stories, and art with a broad theme of community. Top pieces will be featured in a PDF edition!

Check out the details here, or by clicking on the image above. :)

Although it says the deadline is today, we are extending it out through the end of the month!

  • I have a question for the tomato experts of YWS! XD

I had a tomato plant in a pot on my balcony this summer, and it kept growing and flowering but then the flowers would just wither and no tomatoes ever grew. :( I was so sad I wrote sad tomato poems about it. XD

ANYWAY. I stopped watering the plants like the beginning October since I thought it was over? And after ignoring it for a whole month, during which there have been temperatures around freezing, suddenly I look out the window today and notice there are a bunch of green tomatoes on the little withered plant?!??!

I have no idea how this happened but I am both happy and anxious that I will mess it up somehow! Seeking expert insight. XD

Lol anyway here is a tomato photo~

BluesClues Well I don't know either, because usually tomatoes like hot weather, but hey! Who's complaining! How great that you got tomatoes at last!

alliyah I love it! My tomatoes mostly grow by faith; rather than skill, so not sure I can help! But maybe some of the branches withering allowed all its energy to be honed into the fruit bearing / good branch? Sometimes I'll snap off a few branches of my tomato plant so it can concentrate on the ones with flowers. Not sure! But I will say your tomato plant experience sounds very poetic! Keep us updated on whether they ripen! :D

  • I feel like this NaPo Week, I've just getting progressively more teary-eyed with each poem I write. It's kind of nice specifically putting these tender topics in words, aspects of people and places that are in some way lost to me, and I've been pretty pleased with how I've handled/conveyed those emotions.

Anyway, writing a poem about my parents tonight was about as choked up as I've gotten. I'm not sure it's any good as a poem but I hope to share some version of it with my parents some day. :') An Ache

One day left of NaPo Week! Everyone's poems have just been getting better and better and I'm excited to see what you come up with tomorrow. :)

soundofmind I love this. Thank you for sharing this tenderness with us <3

There have been so many great poems this week, it was hard to choose just one for today’s PCrew Pick!

But I really loved @Elektra’s poem today — her theme has been around the stages of grief presented through the imagery of space and astronomy. Her poem “Acceptance” is a super neat looking visual poem!

One of my favorite lines is:
like a tulip nestled on Mars, I defied all odds

But as much of the words of the poem itself, I LOVE the way it’s presented in an image! It’s super creative.

    Check it out here!

For today’s PCrew Pick, I want to highlight this poem by @candyhearts!

The poem takes a look at the difficulties faced by Biblical mothers, and candyhearts beautifully presents us with some harsh imagery while telling us, “this is the reality of maternity in the bible.”

One part that really struck me was,
how could she not glance upwards, not sidewards,
At the becoming-corpse of her once-son?

I also love the clarity of the last stanza’s stance, but I’ll leave that as a surprise. ;)

I've loved reading everyone's threads so far! Happy poeting!
