  • Greetings!

There are tabs located at the top, with such things like All Literary, Blogs, Books, Clubs, etc. Each one has a general section of YWS, and subsections that are more specific to the description underneath. For instance.

All Literary. This is where all of the works from YWS members are posted, and the latest that are posted are of course put at the top. To publish a work, you must go to Publishing Center at the very top, but first you must earn points by reviewing other works by other people. There are other tabs, like Books, Poetry and Shorts that are basically the same thing, except they are specific to books, poetry, and shorts.

Blogs. Each member has their own blog, whether or not they use it. Like All Literary, the most recent is at the top.

Clubs. There are various different clubs on YWS, and you can subscribe to them to become apart of them.

Forums. The Forums are the most diverse tab on the site, ranging from Serious Debate to Randomosity, where all the fun and games happen. You can find resources for writing there, NaNoWriMo and NaPoWriMo, and YWS' newspaper, Squills. As a new member, I highly encourage you to introduce yourself to all of the members at the Welcome Mat.

People. You can read everyone's activity here, as long as you follow them by clicking [Follow (member's username)] underneath their avatar. Anything from wall posts and likes are mentioned here.

Storybooks. This includes Storybooks, Storybook Archives (old Storybooks), The Double Trouble Writing Huddle, Character Chit-Chat, and General and Specific Storybook Discussion (or DT). Storybooks are when a member or yourself makes up a plot/ story line/ setting and other members who are interested make up a character's profile and help write the story that you created by posting in their character's point of view. Normally Storybooks have roughly 7- 10 members included, and the DTs are used to further plot and discuss the Storybook that you joined.

Feel free to chit-chat to anyone on this site (including me) about questions and basic help. If you need a mentor, pop your head over to the Buddy System and remember to check up on YWS rules and guidelines.

I hope you enjoy yourself on YWS! ;)
