In response to this quote:
"If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck…you should not be so quick to jump to conclusions." (Cecil Gershwin Palmer)
If it weighs the same as a duck, it's made of wood, and therefore a witch.
I had to.

Wow.... it's been a while....
My personal computer doesn't have access to YWS for some strange reason.
Hmm... Considering that what I just wrote sounds like an excuse, even to me.... well, here's to trying to get on YWS more.

Dude...... I passed my YWSiversary and I didn't even know it.... Oh well. Happy belated YWSiversary to me!!!

Lucia I was starting to tear up at the end, but I tried to hide it because I was watching it with someone.

I am determined that I will participate in the November Review day. As soon as I post this, it will become an unbreakable resolution.
So if I don't show up tomorrow, I hereby give all of you the right to yell at me.

Any of you ever think you should post something just so that there isn't some irrelevant thing on the front of your page, but you don't know what to write? And then...... you just write.
Well, um.... ahem... yeah.
-
I've been hoping lately that I won't be as busy this week as I was the last couple of Review Days...
Will someone please knock some sense into this priority-confused, stupid head of mine?

This site was recently featured in the YWS Squills newsletter, and it looks like a great idea!

I think I'm starting to enjoy reviewing just for the sake of reviewing. It's a good feeling.

After looking at various works and reviews, I'm starting to suspect that most writers are happy to receive reviews, but don't change their work based on the advice in them. I find it rather discouraging that even if you try hard to be very helpful, your advice is ignored.
rhiasofia Yes, I don't get what the point is in wanting reviews so badly when most don't even change the simplest of grammar corrections! I get that you aren't going to take everything in a review into account, but at least try with some.

TriSARAHtops I don't tend to change stuff that I've published on YWS as per reviews, but I do change my own drafts of it, even if I don't necessarily change what's on YWS, because I don't really see the point. If I do publish the changes, it'll probably be in theform of a separate 'edited' version. So they might still be taking the advice you've given them into account, just not publishing it, if you get my point.

~~~
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
