Be humble.

  • I do not believe I have a moral high ground to comment on Penelope as I have also begged to have my love reciprocated. But her begging to be kissed is when he finally realises he has feelings for her was a bit disappointing to see in a famous series. The other seasons had instinctive kisses. This feels purely physical to me. Yet I cry every episode. I feel bad for Penelope and Miss Cowper. Only three episodes in and I am upset with the writing. I realise this is a novel and maybe the novel has better justifications even then this feels humiliating. If anything I’ve learned in my personal life is that mutual respect and mutual love goes a long way. I would much prefer if they did not end up together. Hm. I’m not a fan of how you sometimes have to hit a man on the head (metaphorically) to have him notice you because they can genuinely be oblivious. I’d rather be philosophical and just say, ‘if it’s meant to be, it will be.’ And hopefully, you won’t have to sacrifice your self respect for you to have it.

  • B99 is funny. Lol. My lunch breaks just got a little bit entertaining.

  • My hatred for Banks has reached amazing heights! You’d think the ATM right in front of the city’s HQ would be maintained, working at the least. But no. My GODDDDDDDDD! But ask them to give lakhs of rupees to millionaires helping them to abscond to a foreign country, sureeeee, without any doubt.

  • I so badly wanted to do 30 under 30. Now I’ve decided to do LIFE before DEATH. 😤

  • Saw Inside Out 2. Wasn’t GREAT as part 1. Still cried ugly. 3D glasses were cool. 😎🤏🏾😭🤏🏾😎

EllieMae I saw it in 3D too!! :D

  • USA and West Indies are hosting the Cricket World Cup. Specifically, the states of Texas, New York and Florida are the USA’s hosts. Yes, USA has a cricket team where the team players are outsourced from India, Pakistan, Africa. Lol. Looks like USA really wants India’s viewership. At least, the high population is working out for this, lol. I was watching the India vs Bangladesh warm up match live when a fan ran into the pitch to meet his favourite player. You see, it doesn’t happen often but the time it happens it’s usually a fun or an irritating moment depending on the player’s and the fan’s conduct. If the player is playful, it’s fun. If the player feels uncomfortable or annoyed, we as the audience are annoyed too. This invasion felt playful and funny because it was happening in the US and we didn’t expect foolery like that to happen there but when it did, we were just amused in our house and made fun of the guy. But when the police came and tackled the guy, it was shocking. The amusement become annoyance very quickly, not at the guy but at the guard! Like, calm down, man. We immediately set to argue whether the guard was right to smack down on the guy. Usually, when a person breaks into the pitch, he is usually walked out, calmly, but tackling and rolling down like he got on fire, even the player got worried seeing the tackle. He called the team’s manager and the manager had to ask the guard to take it easy and even pulled the guy behind him. I was quick to judge the police and also understood why there were so many protests against police over there.

But apparently, there were bomb threats before the match. Action completely justified. I mean, if these stadiums or any public places doesn’t have x-ray scanners and active metal detectors with active security guards to pat check, this is action is understandable. Every public place has these here and we don’t think it’s invasion or being Big Bossed which I’ve heard people say that security check before entering a public place feels authoritarian. I mean, you know what they say? Prevention is better than cure. If there’s no prevention, we are going to assume everyone is affected and a society can’t function like that.

USA won its first match against Pakistan. It was VERY entertaining because it went to super over and super overs are always VERY fun.

    k bye.

DrFeelGood Netravalkar (the bowler who bowled super over) is from my home town. He's become a celebrity now XD

Dreamy Apparently, USA promised visa and free housing etc to get these players, lol. And now, people are giving lessons on how to be better in sports to get visa to USA instead of IELTS, lol lol.

I hope we don’t lose to the Aussies again. Man, I HATE Cummins. 😠

  • I saw The Bear, the TV show with highest IMDb rating. Quite frankly, it was too much for me. My brother loved it though. But I already live a stressful life with an over stressful job/schedule. The show basically annoyed me and gave me an headache. I’ve never been physically affected by a show/movie, this is first. And this is by no means a positive review since kids these days say I threw up and mean it as a compliment. THIS IS NOT! But I’m still going to watch the second season. I was right in hating high end restaurants that uses food as visual art display,I mean, make it appetising but just one scallop and a tomato? C’mon! Toxicity in food industry is ironic.

I have watched tv shows that have dealt with stress, that are high demanding, like Grey’s Anatomy, Transplant. This reaction from me is new to me too. Maybe I’m just getting old and should stick to reality tv shows with petty drama which is never useful to them, the society or me. 🥲

IcyFlame I found the exact same! I’m usually one to binge a series but this one I literally watched like one a week because the tension was too much for me

  • Apparently, today is milk day. I like milk. But as I’m growing older, I might have developed intolerance towards milk. Or maybe I always had it and just never knew because the practise in my country is to have hot tea (with milk), no matter the weather, early in the morning so you’ll have proper digestive releases. My parents say their morning never begins without tea and there is a trending meme that’s going around where the people are still queuing up in the tea shop instead of juice shops despite the temperature being all time high. I’m wondering if it’s just the country’s laxative. Maybe it’s the regional thing.

  • With all the righteousness that one sees people practising online, one would think that Earth is actually morally a better place, a real heaven.

  • I’m eleven YWS years old! I first came here to share my creative writing and get better at it with reviews and mentorship. I did get help but I’m a very bad multitasker and real life got in the way. So now I just come here to share my opinion on things and check out some friend’s work on their request. 🫣 YWS has given me wonderful people as friends and an outlet for my outbursts. Seriously, I love the non-judgmental judgements.

    Thank you. ♥️

P.S which IPL team do you support?

    May 18, 2024

Hkumar oh dear I belong to that boring species who never watch cricket. My IPL knowledge is very limited. All I know is Dhoni plays for CSK and that RCB provides meme materials.

  • I was so confused after reading this. I thought this was complete over-reaction! How would the people asking for direction know that they are looking for “flats” and how would complete strangers help them to look for “flats”. Until I read the comments where I realised the context. You see, flats(UK/Indian) is apartments in American. Of course, I’m aware of the different vocab between the countries. But this one really scratched my brain because there’s also Indian English to consider wherein, we call a flat tire a “puncture”. “I’ve got a puncture.” “Tyre is punctured.”

I am multilingual. I know more than three languages but learning different dialects, various vocabularies of English language alone should make me an expert in linguistics, lol.

Quillfeather It's funny though because has no one ever heard of like being the better man and rising above it and helping anyway? I mean seriously
    May 15, 2024

IcyFlame I think I'm too used to American English because this made sense immediately (we use puncture instead of flat, too)

  • Well, a few weeks back I shared my interest/confusion on Ishiguro and Murakami and how I really need to read Klara and the Sun. As it is, I had already bought the book along with another but had completely forgotten about it. I was searching for some important documents and found these two freshly bought books buried under heaps of printouts on the make-shift table of my sewing machine. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Thank God I didn’t have money, otherwise I surely would have bought the kindle version. 😭

Alpha I'm actually reading Kafka on the Shore and my coworker introduced me to Ishiguro today!

Dreamy Oh, my mom owns ‘Kafka..’ translated to our native language! It’s definitely in my list. I intend to buy the same in English, and a kindle version too. Do tell me how you liked it once you’re finished reading it!
