me: these prompts are so cool
me: we'll be lucky if I draw anything though
me: probably just gonna ignore themalliyah wrote:I'm so excited to see so many folks jumping into inktober this year! I've done it every year since 2017 so it's kind of a YWS tradition for me. You can do an ink drawing every day or make it your own by setting your own goals! You can find the "official" prompt list here --> link though many folks just do their own thing and ignore the prompts. Choose what works for you, excited to see your art! YAY! #Inktober !!!

Congratulations RevMo Reviewers!
With our end of the month Review Day, we smashed our 450 target! With 55 YWSers participating in #RevMo this year we reached a whopping 677 reviews in the month of September!
Just because RevMo is over doesn't mean the reviewing fun has to stop though - let's keep encouraging one another and keep the conversation going! <3 Thank you to every person who contributed to making the month such a success!

The Writers Guild of America has reached a tentative agreement with the studios and ended their strike early this morning! It's not quite over - members still have to vote to ratify the new contract. But the terms are HUGE, and it seems like writers as well as union leaders are pretty happy with them.
The actors' strike continues, and I've heard the writers are requesting a concession that will allow them to join the actors on the picket line as SAG's strike goes on. But I've also heard that SAG members are hopeful that the concessions to WGA means they'll get a good deal too!
Hot strike summer is giving me so many feelings. Ready to cry over the revitalization of the labor movement in the U.S. <3
Elinor The agreement was actually reached a few days ago, it just needs to be ratified. John August of Scriptnotes seemed really happy on his short update podcast (and he's on the negotiating committee so I ultra trust him!) and the feeling in my filmmaking circles is very celebratory. Soon, we're going to be able to get back at it.

BluesClues Yeah, I initially saw the news about the tentative agreement a couple days ago! But the official end to the strike according to WGA was 3:01a.m. EST this morning. I think I saw voting is like the first week of October, like 2-8? The terms look AMAZING so I'm very hopeful both about ratification and the possibility that SAG will also get a good deal soon!
