Spoiler! :
So, in my Geography class we have an end-of-year project that takes up a decent chunk of our grade. It's a presentation on a list of topics, which you get to choose. Except I didn't get to choose and got assigned to a different group instead. Which is fine, I'll make do.
There's two other girls in my group, neither of whom I know very well. One is gone all the time for unknown reasons, but the other is here pretty regularly. Good, at least I have one reliable team member.
We split up the slides; she does half, I do the other half. I finish my slides in two days. She finishes the front cover in the same amount of time. I make the interactive part of our project, which is required. She is still working on the front cover. I'm starting to worry if she's going to get anything done at all.
Last day to work. Hooray! She finished the slides outside of school. Wonderful, I think. We'll finish the assignment after all.
Presentation day comes. I can't get the interactive portion to work, so we probably won't be showing our slides today. However, only three groups are ready to present, and they all finish with about a fifth of the class left.
My teacher states that anyone who wants to present now will get extra credit, but if nobody volunteers, we get points taken off. I urge my partner to help me present--we can get it out of the way, and we won't have to worry about the interactive portion.
She refuses.
I try to convince her.
She reminds me that 'Group member M isn't ready to present.'
I'm sorry, but M hasn't done ANYTHING for the entire two weeks we had to work. She's not even part of our group anymore.
My partner still refuses to present, singlehandedly tanking both our grades.
Yes, I am extremely angry about this.
Yes, I want to punch a wall.
Am I being dramatic? Maybe. But I am still very, very pissed.
