About Andrew Blitman

Born in Cooper City, Florida, I have had a passion for science, nature, and the environment since I was a child. I grew up watching the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, and give credit to shows like "Wild Discovery", "Blue Planet", and "Walking with Dinosaurs" for instilling in me an intense appreciation for other living things. As I grew older, I began to study biology and soon became hooked. In the process, I became a writer.

As I studied marine affairs at the University of Miami from 2008 to 2012, I incorporated my love of science with my intense desire to help others. I was active in many student groups, including the student newspaper and a philanthropic organization called Random Acts of Kindness. I also honed my desire to express myself through artwork and writing, and have used science as a subject for many of my articles and paintings. I compiled everything I wrote before graduation into my first book, "The Blitman Anthology". I hope this book will inspire college students to think positively and critically about the ways of the world. I started this blog so I could share my experiences with the world.

I studied fossil coral reefs in the Dominican Republic in 2011, and have experience in biology, geology, chemistry, and psychology.

In December 2012, I travelled to Israel for the first time. When I returned, I wrote and published my second book. "Birthright 2012: A Voyage into the Heart and Soul of Israel" follows my physical and spiritual journey in the Land of Milk and Honey. It incorporates anecdotes with science, history, and poetry, and reads like a journal.

My goal in life is to help others realize their potential as they understand the wonders of our beautiful planet. I firmly believe that individuals have the power to change their circumstances for the better through hard work, self-awareness, and righteous determination. I hope my writing will inspire others to make that belief - and their dreams - a concrete reality.

In 2012, I graduated cum laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Marine Science, with minors in Biology, Geology, and Psychology. In May 2014, I received my Masters of Professional Science degree from the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. I have been a mentor and camp counselor at the Dan Marino Foundation (DMF) since May 2014. My experiences with children and young adults at DMF helped me harness the two most crucial skills of education - active listening and patience. These attributes have helped me harness my abilities as a tutor and as a writer.

Thank you for visiting my author page. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I did writing them.

Have an incredible day,

Andrew Blitman
