  • #ShareACompliment #SocialMonth

I missed this yesterday as I was super busy, but still wanted to share some compliments!

Firstly thank you to @Ari11 for beginning to plan out our zombie apocalypse story and roleplay with me! You have such awesome ideas, and for being so patient when I don't show up on time in the writers feed pad

I have lately been really enjoying @Lucrezia 's work, and I am patiently awaiting the next chapter of The Vamp which everyone should go check out: profile/Lucrezia/portfolio/477809

i've also been absolutely enjoying reading @SilverNight 's series, The Last Spell, another phenomenal writer who I think creates the most interesting characters: profile/SilverNight/portfolio/477610

And I wanted to thank anyone who has left a review, comment, like or even just read any of my work this month! You're all amazing :-)

    AlienPoetry Awww, thank you <3

deleted30 Thank you so much!! The compliment and the link to my story were both so sweet of you and very much appreciated. I'm honored.

By the way, I've been keeping an eye on the review leaderboards and the fact that you've written 66 reviews this month alone is outstanding! Truly, that's unbelievably impressive. You should feel very proud of yourself! :D

Also: I agree, @Ari11 is an awesome role-play partner. <33

Did you know: the eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia in 1815 was directly responsible for Byron's famous poem 'Darkness' and indirectly responsible for Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein'?

    here's why:
    Spoiler! :

The eruption of Mount Tambora caused a global temperature decrease of about 3 degrees celsius, leading to a period of extreme cold weather known as the "year without a summer." This led to crop failures, famine, and disease outbreaks in many parts of the world. In 1816, a group of writers including Mary Shelley, her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley, Lord Byron, and John William Polidori, were staying in a villa in Switzerland when the unusually cold and wet weather caused by Tambora prevented them from enjoying outdoor activities. As a result, they spent much of their time indoors, entertaining each other with ghost stories and engaging in discussions on science and philosophy. It was during this time that Mary Shelley began writing the novel "Frankenstein" which is considered a seminal work in the science fiction and horror genres. The gloomy weather and the discussions on the nature of life, creation, and the limits of science that took place during the summer of 1816, have been cited as influences on the writing. 'Darkness' is a poem about a future where the sun died and everything went dark, leading humans to fight and destroy the earth until nothing was left, also told during this time.

Learning about this in a module at the moment aha

Thediffident Loved reading about you! You seem like an amazing person and I'm extremely curious about your crystal collection :0
As for the question you asked: I mostly get writing inspiration from my parents. I have no idea how, but they've got this amazing ability to rhyme and form a story verbally in seconds! Those stories somehow present with some ideas or I simply get inspiration by looking around at school, crowded places or simply by overthinking!

    Feb 10, 2023

4revgreen @Thediffident i also get a lot of inspiration from my parents! my dad is super hilarious and sarcastic and my mum is a writer herself. I think it's so cool when kids pick up abilities etc from their parents
