  • Hello and welcome to YWS! I'm Saen. If you ever have any questions, feel free to come to me.

If I can't answer your questions, or I'm not on when you have one, you can always ask the users whose names are in green (moderators) or red (administrators). Other users would be happy to help as well.

Also, here's some helpful parts of YWS that can help you understand how things work on the site:

    Welcome Mat
    Knowledge Base - YWS
    FAQ
    FAQ For New Users
    YWS Critique Sandwich

There's also a really cool part of the site that I suggest checking out! It's called the Storybook section of the site, and it's a place where you can collaborate with other writers in roleplays or even full-blown stories. I've been in a lot of them before, so please don't be afraid to ask me more about them if that seems like something you'd be into.

By the way, what type of things do you like to write? I'm currently writing a fantasy novel, but I'm also a big fan of poetry and short stories.

lanseloot thank you so much, ill check out the storybook section soon...
As for what i like to write, mostly fiction. I've written one 90k fantasy novel about some people trying to find a city far away, having many encounters and mysteries on the way.. Yeah it sucked!! But it was still the first thing i ever finished. I've written a dystopian sci-fi novel around 60k words about two factions fighting to overthrow a dictator. I also started a huge fantasy novel (as most of the teens do) and gave up because it was too much for now. My main focus are characters ad character driven plots - i like writing "morally gray" stories. Besides i have a lot of unfinished projects, and a few short stories. None of this is in english sadly, but hopefully, my next story will be.
I could read anything, but mostly fantasy, unless i get recommendations.
I'm looking forward to reading whatever i can find here, but i was wandering, do you have anything to recommend yourself.
    Ty for everything :)

    Mageheart You're welcome!

It's really impressive seeing how many stories you've finished before! The only novels I've finished in the past have been a self-insert novel back in seventh grade, and a Minecraft fanfiction I finished in ninth grade. I've managed to finish two drafts of a fantasy novel, but I'm still struggling to write the third draft.

I do have some fun stories to recommend, but they're mostly on the long side - I've been reading them for awhile. One of them is @BlueAfrica's The Chosen Grandma. It's about an elderly woman who becomes a chosen one, and it's really funny and emotional. There's also @TheSilverFox's Blessed are the People novel, which is about politics in a land where people can take on the forms of animals and also have magic. I highly recommend that one as well.

For newer stuff, I'd say @soundofmind's The Lost Dragon is a good story! I haven't read it yet, but I know the characters from roleplays I've done with her, and her writing is absolutely amazing. It's like westerns meet high fantasy, which is one of the coolest and most interesting world premises I've ever heard of.

  • Hello everyone!! :), my name is Lanseloot (Not really obviously), and i'm an ambitious 16yo writer from a country far away (no matter where you live). I usually write in my first language, but since it might be easier it publish fiction in English, i tried that way. So i'm looking for more tips on grammar and style parts, since whatever i publish here probably won't be anything but practice, but if you find anything in the story part, you can mention it.

Love Haha, welcome you secretive person :) It's good to have you around!
