I think a YWS storybook with 20 people has better writing than the Rings of Power 😭😭

Can we have a real conversation about how Marvel has lost all sense of continuity, character, and vision and that the entirety of phase 4 has been a letdown, and not simply because we peaked and Endgame and have to restart with a new cast and crew? Take out any conversation of wokeism, politics eec. And you're left with former characters who have been humiliated and dumbed down, horrific and inconsistent world building, broken continuity and some truly awful messaging about what the consequences of enslaving an entire town should be. Or am I crazy?
looseleaf I couldn't have said it better myself

Prokaryote It was never good, dude. I mean, I'm not going to tell you it hasn't gotten worse. But one day you'll rewatch all the Marvel movies past the original Iron Man and realize they weren't as cool as you once thought. They're all the same, factory-produced cinematic pulp fiction with no stakes, not dissimilar to the comics from which they sprang.

so I don't swear. I work around people who swear, I watch entertainemnt that contains swearing (because what doesn't) and while in TV shows and movies I get that it's "realistic" and happens more when people are stressed, it just bothers me so much. I feel like when someone has fifteen F-bombs in a 2 paragraph speech it just detracts from the message and seems like cheap writing to me.
I like that Pg-13 movies have the one F-bomb rule because when it's used you really get a sense of the enormity of their emotions vs saying it fifty times.
I felt like The Witcher Season 1 had a few cuss words, specific to certain characters, but in season 2 everyone is swearing all over the place. Not only does it just feel uncreative, but it also feels weird especially in a fantasy setting.
Idk. Does anybody have any thoughts?
Charm My siblings have played the witcher and read the books. They said that the swearing is part of the writing. The show is just staying true to the story. I don't know though. Maybe it's because it was translated from Polish and maybe Polish people swear a lot? Idk

ChieRynn imo swearing isn't a very educated way of communicating but it provides that shock factor that some people find gripping.
cheap would be a good word for it.
