Hello there! Welcome to YWS, I hope you are settling in alright. And congrats on your star, it takes an awful lot of reviews to get them and "level up", as I like to say.

Few tips for your time here: first off, don't feel discouraged if your stories don't get reviewed right away, this is normal. It can sometimes take days in the green room for someone to review your work, even if your writing is stupendous. It's happened to a lot of writers, me included, so you aren't alone in that. Second, it should be noted that chapter stories are less likely to be read by new readers as you go along. People don't like to have to read through seven other chapters of material just to understand your newest chapter. There is a solution though, no worries! The best thing to do is to get a friend to read each chapter regularly as you go along. Those who have read and liked the previous chapter are more likely to read your next, to find out what happened. Third, reviewing rules and suggestions. There is a fine line between kindness and cruelty. Try not to be too negative or imply that someone doesn't know how to write. If you criticize someone, give a legitimate reason. And while your at it, don't just review to spout only positive things. People like to know what they missed. If there is too much description, or a missed bit of punctuation, say so. Give examples of what could be done better, and if you state you like something, say why. How does this make the story better?

Anyway, I can't tell you everything you need to know, but Mage has been a dear and has given you some links to tell you some helpful things. I really suggest looking at them if you haven't already. Also, I don't know if you know this, but below every comment on your wall here, there is an arrow, a circle made of arrows, and a warning triangle. To reply to any comments here, click on that, type, and hit post comment.

Now that all that is out of the way, care to introduce yourself? What should we know about you?

Hope to hear back from you soon, and have a great day/night! ^v^

    NightKaizer Thanks for the tips!

Hi and welcome to YWS! I'm Mage! If you ever have any questions, feel free to come to me! ^_^

Here's some helpful parts of YWS that can help you understand how things work on the site:

    Welcome Mat
    Knowledge Base - YWS
    FAQ
    FAQ For New Users
    YWS Critique Sandwich

If I can't answer your questions, or I'm not on when you have one, you can always ask the users whose names are in green (moderators) or red (administrators). Other users would be happy to help as well! ^_^

What type of things do you like to write? I write fantasy novels that are sometimes also mysteries, and enjoy writing realistic fiction short stories.

Also, since this a really fun question to ask, where did you get your username from?

    Congrats On Your New Star!

You're wrong about humanity. They are your greatest creation because they're better than you are. Sure, they're weak, and they cheat and steal and destroy and disappoint, but they also give and create, and they sing and dance and love. Above all, they never give up.
