I'll support the decision to remove chat all the way-- However what I have to question is seemingly stripping out all live communication on the site. Private chat groups were a really handy way of getting back to someone quickly, or posing a quick question. That just feels like the removal of a feature simply because the chat room was extracted with a sledgehammer rather than a trowel...
