So I've started watching "A Discovery of Witches" and it's just so mid? I'm very disappointed in the show and I want it to be good. But like it's written like poor fanfiction. The main character who's supposed to be this incredibly strong witch took two whole seasons to be able to defend and save herself without her vampire bf coming to the rescue (and that is no exaggeration lmao)

she is such a damsel in distress it's insane

Omni And, like, I get that there's an audience for this. There are certain demographics that eat up romantic shows (especially romantic ones that are period pieces, involve the supernatural, etc.) -- I just went into the show expecting a good magick-y, witch-y, mystery show and instead got a fanservice self-insert romance with a vampire. The show's just not for me.
