I feel like i am just waiting...
For something to happen...
For something to change...
For people to listen...
For people to adjust their ways...

For acceptance to be universal...
For people to not think in simply right or wrong...
Black or white...
Good or bad...
Smart or dumb...
Masculine or feminine...
Boy or girl...
Outdoorsy or interior...
Deep or surface...
Shallow or selfless...
Interesting or boring...
Going on and on...
The endless list of "opposites"...
Of which you can only be on one side...

One
Or
The
Other

Just
One
For
You
To
Choose

Because society
Thinks
That you can only
Be one thing...

And nothing
Else
Matters.

Different...
Or normal...

That
Is
The
Question

Remember that walruses were people before we evolved
and that if you ever tell them they weren't
it might become a dangerous place for you to live
because walruses are more fierce than we ever were
so it's like the power is in the whiskers
and there's something poetic in that
even if you don't really understand what I'm saying
because poetry is nonsense
but really it's truth
if you look just below the surface of the waves of dissonance
I think you'll find that humanity is more clever than we like to pretend we are
or that a walrus could dance if you asked it,
but no one ever does
and that's really the problem
or at least is one of the problems
and I think it's probably the job of poets to remember that these problems exist
because answers don't come from answers or careful prose
so forget what it means for a moment
because poetry is truth.

i'm constantly relating to constellations
in the way they're there
but not eveyone can find them
in the mass of stars the night sky cradles

i close my eyes
feel myself falling through a void
a downward spiral
i cant control it
im falling forever
i need someone to stop it
but how?

small glowing ashes
fly from the small fire
a few people huddled around
trying to warm their frozen fingers
snow trying to smother the little campfire

the sun slips over the edge of the hill
the sky around a rainbow sunset
clouds turn purple and the sky darkens
the moon comes out to play
shining like a star
between the clouds etched in the sky

wings flapping
still slightly crumpled
the crystal cage lay broken

orange and black blur
takeoff
the new creation flies

life is a roller coaster
sometimes dragging you up the steepest hills
others letting you easily fall down the slope
dropping you suddenly into the dark
whipping you around unexpected corners
sometimes predictable
others surprising
it can hurt or be terrifying
but there's always some laughter around the bend
the tallest hills always end in the fastest slopes
but this coaster changes
so when you think there will finally be a drop
there's just an endless hill
but others it can be the same every time
you can't get off
but there are calm times
loop-de-loops and spiraling upside-down
this coaster will throw you
around and around
you'll get the hang of it though
but remember that it can't be peaceful forever
but it also can't always be uphill

blue notebook

dusted with fleeting thoughts and dreams
in the form of poems
reflecting my innermost wishes
mostly deeply hidden things

pencil tip hovers above a blank page
mind racing with a million thoughts

lead touches the paper
sorting my feelings into words

pencil flies across
funneling wishes through the pencil

pencil slows down
gently falls onto the table

notebook closes
hides behind the normal books
stored away for now
until more thoughts are to be written
