It was cloudy today so I couldn't see the eclipse. But I watched it on a Livestream and it was stunning, so here's a haiku I wrote for #NaPoa luna moth floats
over the moon's corona
as onlookers cheer.
GengarIsBestBoy I'm not super good with haikus but idk I think it's good enough

deleted32 A little of both
I have the bare bones of a plot skeleton, but it's not fleshed out enough to be a solid plan. It's more akin to brief story-beats detailing the most important events of the story and one or two developments that happen before said event.
Besides, once I start writing I start getting ideas about how xyz could be improved and the plot gradually starts to change
Anyway, I usually spend more time writing out character details such as backstory, motivations, and personality

WeepingWisteria I have an intense plan. What each poem’s about. Even a couple of titles. I am ready.

So about my #Napo ... I think I'm gonna keep it private this year. I have a theme and everything, totally planned out, but the subject matter is something I think I want to keep off the internet for privacy reasons. Idk maybe select poems will be shared but I think a large majority won't.
To be clear, totally still participating, just not publicly.
soundofmind love that you’re keeping it private ❤️ i hope you enjoy it this year

kinda of obsessed with how i keep getting poetic inspiration now that #NaPo is over. love my brain for that.
also hi i just wrote a poem about sororities, which i really need to post once i get enough points to
-
the reason i wrote a review for the first time in ages was to publish a new poem for the first time in ages, too, outside of #NaPo
mr. crazy villain villain is a very queer poem i wrote that was partially inspired by a game i suddenly remembered playing as a kid, as well as discovering a very trans-coded vocaloid song a few weeks ago that i've become completely obsessed with ever since.Spoiler! :
-
finally caught up with the #NaPo poems i really wanted to write! i might write a few more if i'm suddenly hit by inspiration, but thirteen poems in total that include poems about all of my irl friends feels really good to me.
the five newest additions from the last twenty-four hours are j., f., s., k/b., and j/s.
now i just need to figure out if i want to send the poems individually or just. send the entire thread and let my friends find their specific poems.
(each letter actually stands for the first letter of their irl or online name, so they should be able to figure out which one is theirs.)
-
really need to catch up on writing #NaPo poems this weekend >> if i don't do the full thirty, i want to at least write enough that i can send poems to all of my irl friends <3
(so i think that's five people??? maybe six??? i have one online friend i really want to write a poem for, since i like to think we're pretty close and his friendship means a LOT to me)

i was sitting at an open mic today with a good majority of my friends from campus, and i was suddenly hit with this feeling of love for all of them, and just this appreciation for the individual friendships i have with each and every one of them.
i also realized i really haven't been all that good at expressing that love, so i decided that i finally had a new #NaPo theme i can actually write for.
or, at least, an updated version of my old one. :)

everything looks so alive outside right now. everything looked so barren before, but now there's color everywhere and it's amazing. it really feels like spring came all at once.
Mageheart the one downside to spring coming all at once, of course, is that my allergies are ALSO coming all at once, but that's a sacrifice i'll gladly make <33

the book starts with the Prologue to Canterbury tales which is written in Middle English so this is hard

Happy poetry month!
After a little less than a year, I completed this poetry book, which I started poetry month last year, and said I would read by the end of the month.
Despite taking longer than I thought it would, it was an amazing experience, covering three hundred years of English poetry, beginning in the 1400s with Chaucer, and ending in the 1700s with Gray. It was an amazing way to learn about history, humanity, and the beauty of the English language. My favorites by far were the folk ballads and folk songs that were in there, and have introduced me to a whole new genre of music. (songs written before the birth of my great grandparents XD) all in all would suggest reading some historic poetry. Really good stuff, challenging, but in a way that has really helped me grow.

desperately need to write more poems for #NaPo but i'm very head empty with the current theme so i think i need to like...veer away from talking about literal dead boys and get metaphorical. but i also need some time to reflect about the topics i do want to talk on, since my brain has very much been edTPA, evolution, and ecology for the last few weeks.

j.mandrakenathaniel from the bartimaeus sequence, but i am very much obsessed with this starting line for it.when you were five,
