With the help of many talented YWSers the chickens have been saved!
Here's some of the most recent publications in YWS's premier chicken-genre for your reading enjoyment:
breaded chicken by @soundofmind : a reflective and nostalgic poem
when I speak of chickens by @Snoink a chicken poem with a little horror / shock intrigue
The Comedi-hen by @KateHardy is both humorous and punny!
The First Golden Goose and The Origins of the Knights: A KotGR Tale a rare work by @KotGRCommander (with some co-writing assistance by myself) is a short story featuring the much awaited origin story of KotGR which happens to involve a goose!
POV You Are A Chicken Who Just Made It Back From Town by @Corv is an intriguing poem that touches on that age old question "why did the chicken cross the road"
The Potentiality of Infinite Chickens by @Liminality is a playful and inventive look at chickens from the eyes of a child!
you are surely not a goose or you would know exactly what i'm saying is one of my most philosophical poems yet. not for the faint of heart. very serious stuff. also featured in COOP: chickens of our poetry zine!
Chickenstein a shortstory by @Lucrezia is a fast paced parody of Frankenstein that I think you'll enjoy!
That's some good reading! For all the chicken-literature you can go to the "All Literary" tab and click that "Chicken" genre! Take a read, and maybe you'll even be inspired to join in on the fun!
(And if any of you chicken authors are looking for a spot to submit you chicken stories or poems... COOP zine is taking submissions - more info and terms on our website. Also if you're not a part of the YWS Chicken Fan Club today's the perfect day to join.)soundofmind wrote:I did my chicken duty #chickens

How would each Disney Princess fare in the Hunger Games?
share which fictional character you think is most like yourself and why!
Edna Fisher wrote:What a wonderful site this is! I may not know much about the Internet, but it's delightful to see so many talented young people all in one place.
I really like this! It kind of made me laugh, but it also kind of made me go, Oh, the poor little eraser dog!!! It's a very original idea, and I hope you don't mind if I say it was a cute poem. The language use was great. I also like how you made a serious point - whether intentionally or unintentionally - about the fact that someone always suffers when mistakes are made. And a further reading-into (aka dissection like we do in English class ALL THE TIME) could bring up a message about animal abuse, although I personally like to just enjoy poems, not dissect them.
All in all, I think this is a great poem, and I hope to see more like it. You're very creative!

okay, so this isn't the most embarrassing wall post but it's the conversation ON THIS WALL POST that gets me (so go to the OG post or read the whole thing in comments on this post). i love you @Quillfeather we were so funny and awkward
this was when i was attempting to go to a program for homeschooled teenagers to socialize. i say "school" but it really was just like a program where we learned how to bake and cope with anxiety for 2-3 hours like twice a week lol
