  • okay I started this fresh outta finals, and then got very very very distracted, so now I'm actually here (and hopefully I don't refresh the page and lose all of it this time lol)

    (Tagged by @BluesClues <3)
(also, like Blue's, not a YWS project)

    Basics
Genre: adult mystery/fantasy (with my favourite subgenre of horror >:] )
Content Rating: R or mature or 18+, this is a darker novel and everyone is swearing
Brief Description: don't mind me using the synopsis I used for camp nano I wrote like, half a year ago In just over a week, Icarus becomes a traitor, takes a young girl, Marion, under his wing who is wanted like he is, and ends up living with a bitter, enigmatic, and shunned ex-detective, Tarot, in order to hide. After learning of his mentor's connection to a brutal killer, the Aetherborn Butcher, Icarus must convince the unwilling Tarot to help clear both his and Marion's names.

But the truth of his mentor's work, and of Aether's war-torn past, is far more gruesome than any of them were expecting.

What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: oh boy! the last chapter I finished is very plot significant. there's a lot going on. what you need to know? much, but for now: Tarot and Icarus have basically adopted a small child, Tarot is hiding them both from the Law (who he also hates), and must go speak to Icarus' former mentor, a very powerful and influential mage, who wants him to find and return Icarus to her. without letting on that he's, you know. hiding Icarus.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write project: I was at movie night with friends and we watched The Great Mouse Detective, and true to my nature, I went "what if this but gay?" (and not mice, obviously). This was followed by us watching Howl's Moving Castle, a movie I had already seen and adore, but the rewatch made me go "!" and I got more inspiration for this novel.

so, watched The Great Mouse Detective, and then went "I want to write a mystery where two gay detectives have to take care of a young child" and that's what I did.

Something I've learned working on it: third person present omniscient is hecking fun, dude. I'm really having a good time with writing in a new way (and now I can say this with more conviction after all the academic work I've had to do this semester)
Something Interesting about the Main Character(s): Icarus uses plants to fuel his magic and is a really good gardener! and Tarot's entire house is essentially based on Howl's room, he has a ridiculous amount of trinkets and novelty decorations all over (though his room is certainly the worst).
My Favourite Character: Hester I can't choose between them (although I won't lie and saw that writing the Tarot-centric chapters aren't an utter delight...)
Favourite Dialogue Chunk: I'm picking this because I went back to one of the last chapters I wrote the other day, and it made me laugh, and also I think it's one of the better out of context exchanges:
“Well, I think it’s time to cash in on my good dad status, and tell you that it’s time for bed.”

Marion immediately scowls like she’s bitten into a lemon and furiously scribbles into her notepad. Bad dad!! You are a BAD DAD!!

“Hm.” Icarus pretends to think about this, tapping a finger to his lips, before shaking his head. “No, no. No take-backsies.”

Marion wriggles like a beached fish in protest.

    Goofy Metaphor:
he is beset by the sensation of being a bug crawling in a very, very large yard

you are tagged by me if you are like me and are very very late to the party but still want to do this

also I think there was a tag for this but I'm gonna be honest, I do not remember what it was lol

  • I'm gonna shout @SilverNight's project in hopes of enticing more reviews her way this lovely review day! This is an absolutely fantastic story that I am finally getting caught up on at long last and it makes me sad that these chapters have been sitting in the Green Room for this long with few or no reviews. They're nice and short, easy to digest, and filled with lots of witty dialogue, endearing characters, and intriguing plots. Highly recommend reading it -- you won't regret it!

SilverNight wrote:#ShoutoutYourProject I’m doing this for #LMS The Last Spell!

    Basics
Genre: Action-adventure, combination of fantasy and sci-fi, somewhat cyberpunk
Content Rating: Overall, 16+ for darker themes
Brief Description: From my LMS thread, spoilered for length because it’s not all that brief XD
    Spoiler! :
The land of Aphirah is on the brink of something new. Magic is present everywhere now, from the streets of the bright and shining cities to the underbellies of the secret crime circles beneath them. Two of the seven Houses of Government ruling the nation have fallen, leaving the other five scrambling to keep a grip on the reign that they formerly had a stranglehold on. Rebellion is on the rise, trying to chip away at the regime’s struggling iron fist as the world teeters between anarchy and despotism. And there are whisperings of something coming to light again after ages in the dark, something that could tip the balance in either direction and transform Aphirah forever.

Cyrin and Mireya haven’t been a team for very long, but working as mercenaries, mages, and thieves for hire in the depths of the capital’s criminal world has forged them into a force to be reckoned with when they’re together. They can see better than most how delicate the world’s situation is, and how close it is to being changed one way or the other. But they didn’t expect to be the heralds of that change when they bring back news of an ancient and powerful magic artifact they discover on a heist, or to suddenly have the knowledge of it place a target on their backs.

The five remaining Heirs to the Houses, thinking this artifact is the key to ensuring their government will stay standing long enough for them to ascend to power, anonymously approach Mireya and Cyrin with a secret offer: recover the artifact from where they found it and turn it over to them. But the mercenaries don’t trust what their plans might be for it, and insist on involving them in the heist to find out. Soon, the lawless and the law-bound must join together to make their mission work in the meantime and then maybe sabotage the other when it’s all done. But despite how their differences could be enough to put their fragile team at risk, they might have a true common enemy that they all have to stand against— an enemy who wants that artifact more, to alter Aphirah how they see fit, and doesn’t care what they have to do to get it.

What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: I don’t recommend doing that since there are eight chapters already XD but if you were to, spoilers:
    Spoiler! :
Cyrin and Mireya have stumbled upon the First Spell, an artifact that can control magic, in a heist of theirs. However, they didn’t realize what it was at the time, and now they’re wanted for that information. Meanwhile, the five Heirs— Shane, Kasumi, Leilan, Dawn and Kaja— are on business to solve rioting in Crystal City, but got interested in the First Spell themselves, and followed a trail to an underworld of crime to find out more.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write project: If you know my writing, you know that I like writing heists and gay chaos. So of course I started from there c:
Something I've learned working on it: I make a lot of secrets for characters, but don’t exactly have the space to reveal all of them in one book, or have the time to include everything I want to see for these characters. Also, it’s going to have a sequel, for unrelated reasons to that and wanting to have more heists >.>
Something Interesting about the Main Character: I don’t consider there to be just one single main character, since the main crew is seven characters and there are four POVs. Without considering her as “the” main character, though, something interesting about Mireya is that her style is all blue— hair, clothes, shoes, accessories, you name it— and her username for messaging that appears in the story changes, but it’s always a joke or pun that contains “blue” in it.
My Favorite Character: I have to say, Cyrin’s definitely my favorite to write, especially when they’re with Mireya (and probably with Shane too, though we aren’t quite there yet).
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
“I’m afraid it’s going to take more than a [magic] ring to make you look dazzling,” [Mireya] said, trusting that they’d get the sarcasm. “I guess it doesn’t work on everyone.”
Cyrin huffed with laughter as he took off the ring, and then he was himself again. “All you had to say was no.”
“Sorry,” Mireya said, holding out a hand for him to drop the Glory Ring in, and she tucked it in a pocket of her blue coat. “But this is worth one million to split between the both of us, and your vanity would be too expensive.”
“Oh, having style is vain now?” Cyrin asked, pretending to be stung. “You better be careful saying that. I know a lot of people in high places.”
“And how many of them hate you, again?”

Goofy Metaphor: For some reason I couldn’t find a goofy one, but here’s a favorite XD
But something told [Leilan] the responsibility of being a sculptor was lost on [Kaja]. Ambitious, harsh or cruel touch could crumble the world, and if that happened when it was their turn, the rubble and the blame would be sitting in their hands.

    Basics

    Genres: horror/romance/supernatural/humor

    Content rating: 12+

Brief Description: A teen girl named Poppy finds out that she is a siren and goes on crazy adventures with her witch friend Ashley and vampire love interest Derek.

What a reader should know if they are jumping into the middle of reading the latest chapter: All chapters are connected, I recommend reading the first one before all else.

    Highlights

How I got inspired to write project:I really like vampires and supernatural creatures, so I thought: Why not make this chaotic yet entertaining series? That’s where this came from. The desire to make something spooky and fun!

Something I’ve learned working on it: I rush things a bit in the story to get the plot going. I’m working on not doing that, because that takes away from the story itself.

Something interesting about the main character: Poppy has loved vampires ever since she was a little girl! (Which frightened her older sister Jessica a bit).

My favorite character:My favorite character (from this series, anyway. You can ask me about my favorite character if overall if you’d like) is someone I haven’t yet introduced into the story (but will soon) by the name of Edward! He’s a zombie Dad with a past.

Favorite Dialogue chunk: "Worry no more, my good friends! For I am Arachne, your savior!" The crazy spider woman beams.

"Ummmmm.." Ashley trails off, possibly weirded out by the spider woman. I am too, but I'll take any way out at this point.

"What? Were-" Derek starts to ask, but Arachne is a fast talker. (This shows up in “The adventures of Poppy McLain:Part Three”)

    Goofy metaphor: (None so far!)

    #ShoutoutYourProject

    Basics
Genre: Science Fiction/ Romance (Mostly Romance trying very hard to hide under a thin, thin veil of Science Fiction)
Content Rating: 12+ (There shall be a bit of fighting to come in later parts although so far its pretty much just E)
Brief Description: The M.M.R.C. (Magical Mishap Response Corps) is in chaos as an unprecedented series of alerts spring up all across the board. Amidst this a simple unassuming mission is assigned to a brand new team almost all of whom need this mission to go perfectly to further their careers.

On the surface it seems open and shut, but when they dig deeper on a hunch, they find there's a little more to this, and it just might hold the answers to the chaos reigning elsewhere too.
What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: Two of the characters here have just joined this agency. And they're chosen for this mission slightly above their pay grade because literally no one else is available. And their mission so far involves the murder of a person which they only have two small photos worth of evidence to work with.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write project: Well, I may have made one too many characters during Roleplay Month that definitely need a place in my writing universe and umm this was born.
Something I've learned working on it: You can write over a thousand words in fifteen minutes if you're determined enough. But well honestly this is a little too knew of a project for me to have to learned too much.
Something Interesting about the Main Character: Safiana is arguably the main main character (no that's not a typo) so well...she is fully capable of ripping apart an entire legion of monsters while reciting the periodic table perfectly from memory.
My Favorite Character: At the moment, my favorite to write has been Sally. She has taken some turns I did not plan but I am not complaining.
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
“Remember the first rule of being a secret agent?”

“If the answer to something is needlessly complicated or dramatic, there’s a good chance you’re on the right track.” Safi rattled it off before she even realized what she was doing. That statement along with several others were engraved far too deep into her memory.

“So… do you have some perfume on you, I have a lighter.”

“Wait you’re not suggesting we actually...?”

Serafina shrugged. “What have we got to lose? Besides no one said we couldn't."

Safi dipped into her handbag and pulled out her emergency perfume bottle. “Nothing like a bit of arson to make a good first impression on your employer.”

    Goofy Metaphor:
The whole agency is like the spool of wires in one of those old supply closets.

  • ~ #ShoutoutYourProject even though we all know this project isn’t actually on YWS

    Basics

    Genre: adult contemporary fantasy
Content Rating: pg-13 [we allow the soft man one (1) f-word]

Brief Description: An old man cursed with immortality hunts ghosts to give meaning to his long and pointless life but avoids friendship with mortals who will die one day. When a town beset by a vengeful spirit adopts him as their own, he has to choose: leave to protect his heart, or stay to save their lives?

What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: it gay. also ghosty. also, the groundskeeper’s name is Peter, but he’s often just “the groundskeeper” in narration, and there’s a reason.

    Highlights

How I got inspired to write this project: I really wanted to write another character like Amir from Remarkable Retirement (aka the Chosen Grandma), like just a soft old man, but I wanted to write someone like that as the main character. also, I love cemeteries.

Something I've learned working on it: I’ve gotten better at writing a good, smooth omniscient viewpoint, and I’ve also really gotten a good handle on a particular voice.

Something Interesting about the Main Character: he’s a working man and doesn’t have much booklearning to speak of, but he loves reading poetry (even if he doesn’t always understand it <3)

    My Favorite Character:
    me: I don’t have favorites
    me: it’s David though

    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
He faltered. “Because of the curse.”
Samira’s brow furrowed. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, too, kicked at the dirt as they walked through the back garden and the front garden and back again. Adeline followed them. Plants rustled sleepily.
“There’s no such thing as curses.”
“There’s no such thing as ghosts, neither, your mam and pa would probably say.”
    “You don’t look cursed.”
He huffed a laugh. “What would someone been cursed look like, you reckon?”
Samira rolled her eyes. “Don’t you watch movies? If you were cursed, you’d be a beast. Or a frog. Or an ogre. Or you’d be asleep in a castle surrounded by thorns or something.”
“I see,” the groundskeeper said seriously. “And how would I go about breaking such a curse?”
Samira trailed her fingers along the coop.
“I’m pretty sure you’d have to get Mr. Schwertner to kiss you.”
He choked on air. Samira pounded his back with a tiny fist. The pullets awoke, peeping at the disturbance.
“Why,” he gasped, “would I need to do that?”
    Samira shrugged.
“True love’s kiss breaks the spell. That’s what the movies say. He definitely likes you. He talks about you all the time.” She fussed with her ponytail. “I know what that means. Sayid never shuts up about Chloe, either.”
The groundskeeper sucked in his cheeks. “Well, I am cursed. And I don’t reckon true love’s kiss would do the trick.”
    “Have you tried it?”
    He blushed. “No.”
“Then you don’t know. Maybe it would work. But you don’t look cursed.”

“Kiss David, for science” - Samira al-Masri

Goofy Metaphor: yeah there are no goofy metaphors in this incredibly tragic story, but can I interest you in a devastating simile
Thinking of Jack inescapably meant thinking of him old and frail, withering like cut flowers until the morning Peter had awoken with him dead in his arms.

    Basics
    Genre: Middle-grade fiction
Content Rating: E for everyone; no violence, unless you count a mention of a book potentially being chucked at someone.
Brief Description: Fantasy + humor + coding! Sunny's a wannabe fantasy hero who finds herself in a world that runs on code.
What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: Sunny and her grumpy robot sidekick ambassador Robert are on a quest to figure out why error descriptions have been disappearing. They must journey to Spaghetti Code Mountain and confront... some mysterious adversary... >.> *cough* I totally have that 100% planned out.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write the project: I've been coding since I was young (a perk of my parents being engineers xD) and I wanted to combine that with writing! Middle-grade fiction is also one of my favorite genres, so one thing led to another, and now I have this wacky story about a girl and a robot going on a quest to save a world of coding. =P
Something I've learned working on it: Community (or competition) helps a ton with motivation to write! With LMS, I've gotten so much farther than I would've if I'd attempted to write this alone. :]
Something Interesting about the Main Character: Sunny has a notebook full of tips for fantasy adventures. For example, "Never say, 'what could go wrong?' because something will immediately proceed to go wrong" and "Treat all magical creatures politely, lest they blast you to smithereens or do something equally unpleasant…"
My Favorite Character: *cough* I don't like to pick favorites, buuut... *whispers* it's Sunny. Just a little-- like 0.001%-- more than Robert. Don't tell Robert. >.>
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
"Why am I the one stuck with babysitting Sunny, again?" the robot grumbled.

"Because dealing with this problem is urgent and you're one of our most capable diplomats," Professor Polly said.

"Because I'm going on an awesome quest, and I choose you to be my sidekick!" Sunny said.

    Robert groaned.

    Goofy Metaphor:
"Going through the portal wasn't quite as exciting as Sunny had hoped it'd be. It felt simply like going into an air-conditioned store on a hot day, with the cold air whooshing around her."

^ One of the only similes I've used, and it's not very goofy... gosh, I should use some more. ^^'

  • ~ #ShoutoutYourProject I was tagged by @lliyah :D - I'll be talking about Silver and Silk, my #LMSVI novel!

    Basics
Genre: Fantasy, Action/Adventure, Queer Fiction yeet
Content Rating: 16+ for darker themes
Brief Description: Oh gosh, well, here's the blurb I made to begin LMS:
Twenty years ago, two unremarkable boys from an unremarkable village were caught in a brutal war. Every night, they would go into the mines to play hide and seek with the raiders, and every morning they would wake up to a town that held a few less people. During one of their sessions of hide and seek, they found something: a dragon egg. However, that dragon egg would become lost to time when they were caught by raiders. From there, their lives were torn apart, with both thinking the other as dead.

Now, twenty years later, Railyn Yora is a lieutenant in the royal mage military, leading a force into a neighboring country. Ryun Nguyen is a stablehand turned warrior, determined to defend his town from another devastating raid, and to get revenge on those who killed all he knew. These two men are just cogs in a machine of sides far beyond their grasp, but when their sides clash, the two meet each other once again.

With their worldviews shattered, the two men must begin a journey of self-discovery and self-worth as they must decide what, and who, truly shapes them. There may not be a choice, however, as their worlds quickly collide with one another, crushing everything in their way. A struggle between two childhood friends turned enemies could determine the outcome of the war, and perhaps the fate of all they know.

What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: Oh, gosh, spoilers ahead :D
    Spoiler! :
So the prologue is set 20 years before the latest chapters, where the two main characters, Railyn and Ryun, are caught by some baddies. Railyn is selected, Ryun is stabbed and thrown out to the sea to die.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write the project: Railyn is an OOC I've been writing on for about three years now in various projects, and from the beginning I've always wanted to write about the story of Railyn and his best friend. However, as I'm a roleplayer at heart, Railyn's personal story was always secondary to the main, larger story going on. When LMS Round VI was in the beginnings of planning, I knew not what I wanted to write, but I figured out quickly that I wanted to finally give Railyn and his childhood bestfriend, Ryun, the story they deserve.
Something I've learned working on it: Honestly, this is my first attempt at writing a novel in a long time, so I've been learning how to pace my writing and balance motivation and endurance, so writing when I'm unmotivated and pacing myself when I'm hyper-fixated on it.
Something Interesting about the Main Character: Ryun is older than Railyn and definitely the more serious of the two, but he's also shorter than Railyn.
My Favorite Character: Since the story hasn't gotten much written on it yet, I don't quite yet have a favorite character. However, Railyn is one of my favorite characters to write in roleplays. I think he has a youthful optimistism to him that's nice.
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
"Ryun!" Railyn shouted, his annoyed voice reverberating around the cavern. Ryun finally glanced up, confused. Railyn answered that confusion with crossing his arms. "You were supposed to hide!"

"Oh. Well, uh, you found me." Ryun mumbled.

Goofy Metaphor: Not really goofy but my favorite metaphor so far:
Still, he had to steel himself no matter how worn that mental metal was.

Tagged by @soundofmind so I'm gonna shout about Among the Dragons ^-^ As you can see from how many chapters I currently have in the Green Room, I could use another reviewer or two and would love you forever <3

    Basics
    Genre: YA Action/Adventure, Fantasy
Content Rating: I would say the novel as a whole would go 16+ for some heavier themes and occasional violence, but some chapters are 18+ for profanity. I always rate individual chapters appropriately and try to be mindful of adding T/Ws when necessary ^^
Brief Description: 20-year-old Jerica Ainsley is the fearsome King's Assassin -- a position she's held for the better part of the last decade and which strikes fear into men across the entire realm. She's tasked with keeping the peace for her uncle, King Levin Ainsley. But beneath it all, she's exploring juicy family secrets and uncovering a prophecy spoken over her at birth that threatens her life even to this day.

What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: This is actually book two of my series, but I am actively trying to make it friendly to people who jumped in on the second book without reading the first book. It's a medieval fantasy setting with magic and cryptids (still working on developing both of those) and Jerica challenging the status quo.

Bit of a spoiler for what happens leading up to this so don't click if you are Icyflame or Otterpop xD
    Spoiler! :
Jerica accidentally hurt her squire when they were training and he did a Freudian slip and called her 'Mama' and now she's going to formally adopt him because he's an orphan. She's got big angst about it.

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write the project: No idea xD I started working on Jerica's story when I was in high school a decade ago >.> and she's been through many evolutions over the years. This is just where she and I currently are in our respective lives and development xD
Something I've learned working on it: Honestly, most of what I know about writing prose has come from working on Jerica's stories over the years. Nothing in particular is coming to mind though :3
Something Interesting about the Main Character: She's got dyscalculia
My Favorite Character: I gotta go with Jerica here she's probably my favorite OC I've ever made, honestly. But I also super love her best friend Aashi <3
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
She bent as she spoke and swept her hand along the cobblestone that made up the sparring block, then in a fluid motion reached her arm towards him and brushed her thumb down the bridge of his nose. It left behind a dusting of fine dirt particles.

Jerica smirked at him. “There, that’s better. How you usually look.”

Kieran smirked and rubbed at his nose, snorting. “Nuh-uh!”

“It’s true,” Jerica teased with faux gravity in her tone. “Dirty-Nosed-Kieran, the smallest boy with the dirtiest nose around.”

Kieran laughed at that and shook his head, rubbing at his nose again and grabbing a wooden sword off the rack for himself. “There’s not gonna be any dirt left for my nose after I rub all of it on yours!”

    Goofy Metaphor: no <3

  • IN HONOR OF THE COMING REVIEW DAY I SHALL START THE BANDWAGONING
In which I will very poorly and memely pitch my story to everyone and totally convince people to read it

    THE LOST DRAGON

    🅱️ASICS

    Genre: Fantasy Adventure
Content Rating: Probably 12+ for some violence and mild gore(?)... maybe 16+ to be safe. But that will come later. Not yet. People die but no dogs die
Brief Description: So basically a cowboy (Matt) who is secretly a wanted criminal and a monster hunter (Clandestine) who is secretly a mage become friends and their messes become each others' messes and their secrets each others' secrets oh and also maybe they take over the world or something 😊 let's find out together
What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: Oh, *waves hand* you know. Spoilers:
    Spoiler! :
A giant worm died. Matt knows Clandestine is a mage now and they're cool (maybe). Finally, all that tension's gone haha, right?

    HIGHLIGHTS

How I got inspired to write project: I have been obsessed with these characters for almost 9 years and I need to make this story exist in a fully finished polished form before I die. It's the only big story I really want to tell. That's all. I'm so normal.
Something I've learned working on it: Have fun or you cry in MISERY!!!
Something Interesting about the Main Character: Matt doesn't like chocolate but he loves cheese (make another James loves lasagna and is garfield joke - you KNOW who you are - and I'm going to scream). Clandestine is allergic to crabs but loves all meat. Especially steak. Neither of these things are story relevant but now you know what not to feed them.
My Favorite Character: Oh that's easy, it's -- *train passes*
    Favorite Dialogue Chunk:
"I see," was all he said. And that told her nothing. What did that mean? I see?

"Yes," Clandestine blurted. "I also see."

Goofy Metaphor: Haha so funny so quirky
It unearthed with its mouth flayed open like four petals of a flower, peeling away to reveal rows and rows of dirt-brown, needle-like teeth.

  • Hey friends! In honor of our upcoming review day (which you should totally click the link and sign up for!!) I thought it'd be fun to try to start a new hashtag? We have so many great projects and novels in the Green Room right now, I'd love to hear a little bit more about them! And better yet, this hashtag gives you a chance to chat about your project, which who doesn't love?! And maybe if we share/hear about each other's works it might spark someone's review interest! So give it a try! :)

    Here's the hashtag format for ~ #shoutoutyourproject

Full disclosure this is set up more for novelists so doesn't really work for my project but alas I'll try to answer the random questionaire!

    Basics
    Genre: History / Creative-Non-Fiction / Poetry
    Content Rating: varies, mostly E
Brief Description: My poetry project "sorting heirlooms" takes a poetic look at a variety of different family objects connected to family stories while playing with themes of family, nostalgia, and relationship.
What should a reader know if they are jumping right into the middle of reading the latest chapter: I'm not writing this chronologically, so feel free to jump into any poem at all!

    Highlights
How I got inspired to write project: ancestry research in general, hearing strange / compelling family stories that I wanted to fill in the gaps for.
Something I've learned working on it: it's much more challenging to write about other real people than myself, I definitely find myself thinking of the ethics of portrayal a lot - something I researched a little in a memoire writing class I took once and am still wrestling with. I don't need to portray everyone positively, but I do want to portray real people with generosity if that makes sense.
Something Interesting about the Main Character: I'd say maybe I'm the main character? Not sure!
My Favorite Character: Favorite person I've written about would be great-granduncle Leslie.
Favorite Dialogue Chunk: "isn't there a love to naming things?" - pops up in week 6 & week 7's poems.
Goofy Metaphor: "I will tie a quilt wide enough to hold all your infinities and bind us together again".

vampricone6783 How do I copy story links for this? I want to participate.
    Dec 11, 2022

alliyah You can copy the bottom part on your wall and fill in the answers - to copy a story link, go to the story you want to link and then right click the "url" at the top of the page, (it should look something like "youngwriterssociet.com/work/vampricone6783/workname") choose "copy link" on the story's website address and then just paste it in your post. You can open up two tabs at once on YWS to make it easier to write and copy too.
