Well, sadly, NaPo week has come to an end. It has been an amazing week filled with so much incredible poetry! Todays final PCrew pick goes to... @chrysanthemumcentury with this beautiful poem. Check out the rest of their poetry from this week in their thread!

    My favorite quote was:

we are intertwined, spirit and heart,
    and this just may be time for change;
though i loathe to say so.

death is our life, change is our constant,
spirits as Seekers, Being in Fleeting.

Thank you for this wonderful poem and for sharing your fantastic poetry with us this entire week (: It is not too late to make your own #PeoplesPick tonight! #NaPoWeek #PCrewPick

There have been so many great poems this week, it was hard to choose just one for today’s PCrew Pick!

But I really loved @Elektra’s poem today — her theme has been around the stages of grief presented through the imagery of space and astronomy. Her poem “Acceptance” is a super neat looking visual poem!

One of my favorite lines is:
like a tulip nestled on Mars, I defied all odds

But as much of the words of the poem itself, I LOVE the way it’s presented in an image! It’s super creative.

    Check it out here!

Five days into Napo Week! Ooh it's getting spooky in here!

Todays poem comes from a wonderful poet doing there very first napo event! Today we are highlighting @theromanticchemist poem in their thread rereading what i used to be All the poems in the thread are amazing and you should definitely take a look!

However the Poem that most caught my attention was the third poem in the thread. It's incredibly descriptive and imagagintive wording and almost wistful tone. The feeling of desperation almost to the point of hopelessness is tangible.
    Just read this first stanza
this morning i breathed in the chilly fall air as if it was my last—
left the world behind as i stared at the cloud my breath made. i wish not to be in real life,
there are better places to be. perhaps in my mind. perhaps in yours.
maybe if i lose myself in my own thoughts for long enough i’ll cross yours.

I absolutely love the first words and how /real/ and tangible they feel.

I am absolutely loving everyone's poetry so far! Lets finish out these last two days strong!

  • ...can I do #PeoplesPick for #NaPoWeek multiple times???

I want to highlight this poem, On the Road to Rebirth by @Que!

    Here's how it begins:

no one tells you that resurrection
    is slow, tedious even.

it’s not a glorious rebirth from the ashes
    but a gradual pushing up
    of crocuses from the soil,
    learning to breathe
    over & over again.

And just... the imagery of the crocuses in snow, the resurrection theme, the hope (perhaps futile hope?) of rekindling a friendship long past... it's just a very poignant poem. You should read it.

    Que <3 Aww thank you!

  • Okay... I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but! I would like to do a #PeoplesPick for #NaPoWeek . :)

This poem, in a fire, i take all i can carry by @SilverNight hit me hard. Like... the whole thing is good so you should definitely read it (the beginning caught my interest at once because BIRDS) but the ending especially smacked me in the face:

(you said you loved me because i was a poet. i wish that were enough
for me to love myself. i wish i could stop dreaming in melting points
and bury the too-keen scientist in me under feathery roots.)

...let me tell you, I feel that in my booooones.

SilverNight ;-; aaaaaaaAAA THANK YOU SNOINK <3

  • WAIT!!!!!!! WHAT!!!!!! MY POTATO POEM WAS PICKED????? :o

Here's today's PCrew Pick! Today we're picking something up from the garden... that's right! I wanted to highlight one of @Snoink's lovely poems from her thread Harvest Songs.

Everyone should take a look at To Live and Die (and Live!) as a Potato it goes much deeper than simply a poem about potatoes but unpacks a metaphor about life and faith. The opening lines are excellent:

To grow potatoes is an act of faith
for you never see the fruit of the plant
    until everything dies.

Hope you take the time to read Snoink's delightful poem as well as the other poetry over in the NaPo Week Forum - there's lots of good stuff to read and contemplate!

Snoink ...please excuse the flailing from the over-excited novelist, lol. This never happens. I am excited. XD

For today’s PCrew Pick, I want to highlight this poem by @candyhearts!

The poem takes a look at the difficulties faced by Biblical mothers, and candyhearts beautifully presents us with some harsh imagery while telling us, “this is the reality of maternity in the bible.”

One part that really struck me was,
how could she not glance upwards, not sidewards,
At the becoming-corpse of her once-son?

I also love the clarity of the last stanza’s stance, but I’ll leave that as a surprise. ;)

I've loved reading everyone's threads so far! Happy poeting!

Hey everyone! I hope you are having an amazing start to NaPo week :)

Everyday, members of PCrew will be posting a selected poem to highlight on the people’s tab. Today, for my pcrew pick I want to mention this poem by the amazing @AnotherCrowInRow!

    My favorite quote was:

    Create new secret handshake
    with someone I don't know.
    Create new songs
    and sing them alone.
    Do what you want,
    it was your choice.

I thought this was a really powerful poem and a delight to read! Check out the rest of their poems this week in their amazing thread, Days at the end of Autumn

AnotherCrowInRow Wait, how it is possible I noticed this now? THANK YOU! I am soo happy you liked my poem :D

    I'm Waiting, I'm Waiting
    I'm waiting, for forgiveness
    (I'm waiting, for you)
I'm waiting, for it to start
I'm waiting, for it to end
    I'm waiting, for the prisoner
    I'm waiting, for pain
    I'm waiting, for love
We've become the things you've long forgotten
Now I'm walking out my days and nights, I'll meet you at the altar
I will close the door but, before I walk out on you
I will close the door but, before please show me forgiveness
I will close the door but, before please show me you
I will close the door but, before please show me the start
    before it ends
I need to see the captive, that remains at the shore
I will close the door but, before please show me the end of it all
I will close the door but, before please show me the pain
    show me the love
I have become that thing that is long forgotten
