  • ...okay, so I was reading through the #SpookyTags again because I am READY for #Spooktober , and I forgot to post this prank that one of my characters did to poor Cyrus for my #HalloweenTricks ! :o

Anyway, with no other ado... here's a scene from book 2! (Spoilers, I guess, but also this scene lacks so much context that I don't think it spoils much, hahaha.)

    Spoiler! :
Cyrus glared at Alainna for her vague answer and then heaved his shoulder into the door in an attempt to break the chain.

    Then something strange happened.

The door moved much farther than he had previously pushed it. So far, in fact, that Alainna heard the chains groan and a cord snap.

And then someone fell on them.

Alainna couldn’t help it — as soon as she felt an arm crash into her shoulder, she screamed and jumped away. Her side felt as if it would split and her whole body protested at the quick movement, but all she could think of was getting away from the body as quickly as she could.

Even Sergius screamed. The light from his eyes first dimmed and then went out entirely.

Cyrus swore loudly. “Cowards! I am surrounded by cowards!” A moment later, he struck a match and lit an emergency torch that he must have kept in his pockets. Then he grabbed Alainna. “You fool! Look! It’s nothing to be afraid of. See?”

Cyrus thrust the body in front of her.

Alainna stared at the body, trembling. Then she realized that it was just an old scarecrow. The scarecrow was dressed in Theron’s old clothes and had a strange smile painted on his face.

    Alainna whimpered.

“Someone must have rigged up the doors for this childish prank,” Cyrus said, throwing down the scarecrow in disgust and kicking it away. “Considering that we just ran away from an entire ghost army, this is downright infantile!”

The Narrator: Absolutely not. Preposterous. Childish. Embarrassing. Next!

Death: Maybe a silly trick, but nothing mean. Like mint toothpaste in Oreos.

Life: He’s going to ruin your life. Stick nails in your shoes, kind of guy. Fake bugs to scare you? No! Very real and very deadly ones.

Fate: He will spend ages planning the most perfect trick and then never actually do it because one little thing went wrong.

Chance: Maybe. Maybe not. Isn’t the threat enough?

Spearmint i would still eat those Oreos... >.> XD also ew Life

  • "Gather 'round, my dear townsfolk, as the tide rises and the moon casts its glow; for the whispers of the deep call to you, and I am their voice. But beware, for the sea does not take kindly to those who betray its secrets... and the price for silence is far more treacherous than you can imagine."

Selene would definitely pull a Halloween trick; she thrives on chaos and manipulation. One year, she enchanted the seashells of to sing haunting melodies at midnight, drawing the unsuspecting townsfolk to the shore. While they were mesmerized, she slipped away with their valuables, leaving only echoes of their laughter in the mist. She believes that a well-played trick can reveal the true nature of those around her, and she relishes the power that comes with it.

  • Okay! With #SpookyTags coming out, I am going do #HalloweenTricks for my main characters!

    Swan Series:

Solea: OH YEAH. She's down for tricking people. Especially her sister, Alainna. And her Black Swan father. And...

Alainna: Nope. While Alainna is the queen of petty, she looks down on tricks as being too childish...

Adelore: YUP, he be crazy like that.

Cyrus: No. He is too careful about that. He can be tricky in his own way, but his tricks are not really tricks but just... payback, haha.

    All That Glitters:

Tristian: ...not really? He's not very good at that kind of longterm planning. xD

Hehe, a shocking twist in the book (kind of intense -read only if you dare! >:D)

    Spoiler! :
[i]The dark aura started to manifest again. The ends of his black hair flared like fire. As black ooze continued to leak between his fangs, it started to scorch the ground where it dripped.

His voice became even more distorted. "Don't tell me you thought you were getting away. First, I want you to tell me..."

To Kita's shock, Leiytning put his claw to her stomach, just as he did with the poor soldier moments ago.

"If a mortal's heart breaks, does it show? Or will it look like all the others I've removed?" ...Leiytning's maw flashed a sinister grin. "Shall we find out?"

    #HalloweenTricks

    Spoiler! :
Hmmm...I feel like if Kita were in a normal state of mind, she may not pull a Halloween trick on her own, but with friends? She would likely be in on it. With her *old friends*, it would be a more innocent type of prank. Egging somebody's house or helping deface a statue/decoration. With her *new semi-friends*, it would likely be a little more intense. Something like replacing an everyday potion with one that bursts into frigid smoke when opened. You know, totally normal stuff XD

    Snoink THAT SPOILER THOUGH.

  • #HalloweenTricks ... Not my circus edition!

Molly is 100% the kind to play tricks... I had this fanfic idea where she shape shifts into a serial killer from a TV show to scare Keith... Keith, on the other hand, does not like tricks at all (one trick led to a life-long phobia of spiders)

vampricone6783 I can foresee this happening.
