Since Twisted Wonderland has a huge component about music, how fitting would it be to share some tracks that could suit the game? Share them here, and feel free to insert a YouTube video of them!

Okay, so I've compiled a bunch of songs from my personal music playlists that I think would suit characters and dorms (and some of them were a self-imposed challenge to use only one artists' songs). Anyways, this is the start of Lael's TWST Music Project^TM.

I can't say most of them are like THE song for each of them, but there are a few that are just perfect <3

To start off, I'm going to list the tracks on my playlist where I challenged myself to only use boyband Seventeen's songs to assign songs to each dorm/character, etc (since I've locked in my choices on this one). If I have any songs from this round to be super proud of matching, it's gotta be Idia's, haha. Probably to avoid spamming, I'm going to try to release my music picks a handful at a time

Disclaimer: Yes, some of these songs are love songs, but I was going off the vibe and general meaning.

Part 1: Intro

1. "_WORLD"
So, I picked this song to begin with because it talks about stepping into an exciting new world with someone you care about. Also, "Come, come into my world" = Welcome to the Villains' World right?? xD Also, it was kind of the vibe I had when I first saw the game on the app store and thought it would just be a fun game . . . boy, I sure didn't know what kind of sad story I was getting into.

2. "Trauma"
This track is, as the name suggests, about personal trauma or negativity that the Seventeen Hip Hop team members have faced in their lives, so I thought this was really relatable for anyone who's struggled, but especially in the TWST club it fits the overblot crew's backstory well.

3. "Fear"
If "Trauma" was fitting for the overblot crew, "Fear" is probably like their posterboy song, lol. I was originally going to give it to Pomefiore since they have a poison imagery, but I thought, hey, it fits the vibe of overblotting. Both sonically and lyrically, it sounds like desperate pain and fear that's turning into panic. Imagine this song played every time somebody overblotted xD

Part 2: Heartslabyul

4. Heartslabyul Dorm Intro: "Don't Wanna Cry"
The main reason why I picked this song is because of the title, honestly. My goal was for each dorm's "intro" song to be one of Seventeen's title tracks, since those are the promoted songs off the album (so like a general snapshot of the comeback's vibe), since each dorm has a general feel to it.

I know a lot of people's heartstrings get tugged by Riddle's backstory, so I picked this one.

5. Riddle: "Wave"
I interpreted this song as how it's hard to breathe when you're so suffocated by being busy and wanting to find freedom inside your true self. Quintessential Riddle--he just has never caught a break in his life and had to push down his own wishes because of his mom.
Standing all day in front of the door to the heart / How about knocking on it? / Escape for a moment to the ocean inside your heart / All your cells want more freedom

6. Ace: "Just do it"
I chose this song by special unit BSS because it is basically about shamelessly/confidently doing what you want in life. Doesn’t that sound like a certain someone?
Guys who do what they say they’re going to do, that’s me / The one who also says they don’t like it if they don’t like it / You should know what you want / Do everything you want without hesitation

7. Deuce: “My My”
This one sums up what I would want to say to Deuce. He’s passionate and wants to continually become a better person, but Chapter 5 shows some of his struggle and overcoming challenges. I think he’s well on his way and just needs to take the journey at his own pace and in his own way.

No need to rush, you’re doing fine / Just stay as you are / My journey starts with me / Over the sun / My my my my my way / Getting closer and closer with every step

8. Cater: “Still Lonely”
Cater

He acts really superficial and cheerful all the time, but they really aren’t giving us many crumbs about his backstory. That one mandrake of his in the Labwear vignette that was sitting sadly with its arms wrapped around its knees though . . . This song talks about feeling empty and lonely despite being constantly surrounded by so many people, yet it would just sound cheerful if you don’t know what it’s about.

9. Trey: “Hug”
I once looked at a video on YouTube where someone gave all the TWST students a kpop song, and this was the one given to Trey. Just yes and yes. It’s a song about supporting and comforting someone who is facing struggles that are even hard to share with others. Trey is so sweet and such a supportive figure for his dormmates.
For you who must have it hard today, I will tell you / That I’m here / That you’ve done well / That I love you / And I will hug you tight

10. Heartslabyul Dorm Outtro: “Kidult”
This song discusses the facing the hardships of growing up/being an adult but still embracing life and loving yourself through the innocent child within. I thought this was a nice one to end the Heartslabyul group on because of how some of them face immense pressure from their pasts and the expectations of the future. It’s always nice to get a reminder of how precious and loved you are, even as life continues to feel overwhelming.

I very much need to look through all of these songs later & also think of some of my own, but I had to pop in here to drop the wonderful bit of knowledge that multiple characters' VAs are also singers, and that I've been listening to Shouta Aoi's songs very frequently lately.

He has such a wide range of them that I'm sure some of them would really fit >> I've always started associating a few with my future AU for Ortho.

Ooh nice! Yes, I've heard that most of them are singers and I was planning on checking out Twin Paradox (Jamil VA + twin).

Part 3: Savanaclaw

11. Savanaclaw Dorm Intro: “Left & Right”
I gave Savanaclaw “Left & Right” because it has a lot of symbolism of life being like a race (so athletics). This song talks about taking a break from running so hard through life.

12. Leona: “Simple”
I chose this song to reflect Leona’s jaded or sad side due to his insecurities and feeling like he can never please anyone or measure up to others’ ideals. Since he acts pretty mean a lot of the time, I thought it would be nice to focus more on his softer side, which is what I like most about him (plus the fact that nearly all Seventeen songs are tender, emotional, or uplifting). This song explores happiness seeming like an unreachable dream, so wanting ‘okay’ or a ‘simple’ existence is the next best thing.

13. Jack: “Call Call Call!”
As much as Jack the tsundere tries to pretend like he doesn’t actually care, we all know the truth. Just like wolves are symbols of loyalty, he is indeed very loyal to his friends and I do not doubt that he would drop everything and come running to their aid if they needed him, regardless of what it is. He’s a sweet boi like that and a perfect representative of this song.

14. Ruggie: “March”
“March” is about rising to the top and working hard to get what you want in life, “just like a cowboy.” xD (I think Ruggie would look good in cowboy gear.) But anyways, I think this song fits Ruggie because he has a clear set of goals, and he has a plan of how to achieve them. He works tirelessly to one day become successful. He also sure knows how to work on people to get what he wants . . .

15. Savanaclaw Dorm Outro: “Anyone”
I have to admit that one of the hardest parts of my TWST x SVT playlist was finding a song for Savanaclaw’s outro. I’m not exactly sure there’s a Seventeen song that perfectly fits for this purpose, but I chose “Anyone” because of Savanaclaw’s spirit of doing things their own way, including owning up to their actions and working for the next big opportunity.
We make the rules / The only rule in the world / Can’t change it / Not anyone, anyone
Note: I have also attached a special performance video from Seventeen because it’s just so good. And also, imagine if there were some sort of special story where a blastcycle exhibition/tournament came to Sage’s Island and Deuce and some of the other boys got to participate and wear outfits like these!! Haha I’ll see myself out now.

Part 4: Octavinelle

16. Octavinelle Dorm Intro: “Home;Run”
When I listen to this song (an absolute masterpiece), I could imagine it being played in the Mostro Lounge by its sound alone. At first, I did find it a bit ironic giving it to Octavinelle since the song lyrics talk about taking a break from life’s difficulties/toiling while Mr. Azul here is a workaholic. But at the same time, the song also conveys the idea of doing things with a bang. You could also say that they would play this song to encourage more customers to come ~~spend more money~~ relax at the Lounge.
Note: there is a Japanese version as well.

17. Azul: “Shadow”
Azul always presents himself as perfect and well put-together, but that hides his inner feelings, which are a battle with deep hurt and loathing for who he was in the past. This song explores facing your own ‘weakness’/insecurities that you don’t want anyone else to see and finding that even these can be embraced, like a shadow that is always attached to you. It seemed like the MC was able to say some encouraging words to him at the end of Chapter 3, and it would be nice for him to able to eventually heal from his pain and reconcile with himself.

18. Jade: “Shhh”
Ha, so, I guess this pick is meant to represent ~~shady~~ amazingly reliable Jade is. I’m sorry, but I seem to only be able to pick songs for Jade that vibe with his ~~shady~~ nature since the only other thing I could do is possibly pick a love song and say it’s his love for mushrooms, haha. (Just kidding. Kind of.) But I wanted to highlight how he has perfect and polished ~~butler~~ behavior but with a slightly sinister and unknown side lurking under the surface and the lyrics of this song seem to best do that out of Seventeen’s songs. He would definitely be someone who says, “Trust me,” and talk about his dedication with that chuckle and you feel like you shouldn’t trust him but have no choice. (That’s not to say “Shhh” is a shady song though! It’s a bop.)

19. Floyd: “Holiday”
Ah, where should I start? I’ve got a lot of appreciation for both “Holiday” and Floyd. With this song, I want to emphasize Floyd’s free-spirited side. He isn’t afraid to do what he wants, and he knows how to enjoy life in his own way. ~~Although being in a situation like this with Floyd could end in disaster,~~ I think that hanging out with Floyd on a holiday could be fun (and there I got a flashback to Chapter 4…) When I think of Floyd while listening to this song, I imagine running freely along the soft, sandy shore of a beach, just feeling the exhilaration of the air rushing past while the water sparkles with the light of the warm sun. (Did I just hear a voice saying “Koebi-chan, you’d better run fast or I’m gonna squeeze you”? Lol jk)
Ring ring what are you doing? / The weather outside is nice / How about you hang out with me, oh / Ah even if it isn’t a place where there’s palm trees with coconuts / For no reason, don’t want to say where we would be going, it’s still no way / A place that’s like my heart that wants to tease you whenever I see you

20. Octavinelle Dorm Outro: “Not Alone”
I chose this song because of how Jade and Floyd remind Azul that he’s not alone in his struggles. The three are not just business partners—they are friends who will stick together even through personal struggles. In a friendship, staying around only because your ‘friend’ is smart, business-savvy, or rich and successful is not a true foundation at all. Like the lyrics of the song say, a true friend will be there for you, even if you are physically apart, and they will help remind you that things will get better.

Part 5: Scarabia

21. Scarabia Dorm Intro: “Hot”
The title says it all. I picked the song because it’s called “Hot,” and the imagery of the song is their passion for going beyond their limits being hot like fire and the sun. And we all know the Scarabia dorm is hot. And has a literal desert inside. I have to admit that when I first listened to this song, I did not like it much, but it has obviously grown on me since then, and I feel that even the musical sound itself somehow fits Scarabia. I can’t really explain it, but it does feel that way to me.

22. Kalim: “Imperfect Love”
Though I think so many of Seventeen’s songs could be amazing Kalim theme songs (including some of the ones I selected for other students), this one stood out a lot for the impression it gave me of Kalim’s Wish Upon a Star event wish (and also his VA’s commentary in an interview). Kalim’s basically got everything he could want as the heir of an unimaginably wealthy family. Because he has all his needs met, he is able to exercise his cheerful and generous nature and he desires for those around him to be happy. In fact, he says that if others are happy, that makes him happy as well. Though he is aware of some of his own shortcomings, he always has a sincere heart and wants to do everything he can to make life nicer for everyone.
Although there are a lot of things that shine in this world / Among those, only you, only you are precious to me / Although I can’t become the perfect weather for you / Would you still love me this way? / Perhaps, it may still be an imperfect love / But I want to create endless stories like those hidden inside an old book

23. Jamil: “Silent Boarding Gate”
For Jamil, I chose “Silent Boarding Gate” (royalty among songs!), a Chinese solo from Seventeen’s Jun (Wen Junhui). There is a clear difference between the vision and dreams Jamil has for himself and his reality as Kalim’s attendant and protector. Like the feelings that Jun tries to portray in the song, Jamil may be unable to reconcile inner conflict. It feels impossible to achieve the recognition and success he wants due to being held back from using his full talent and skill, and that’s so sad.
At the silent boarding gate / I look at the clouds that haven’t flown past, I surrender while half-awake / But I’m not the one waiting to fly / Tears in my heart after I know what happens next, even if I land / The two time-spaces will be in parallel to each other / At the boarding gate / What path should I take? I’m the one who is unable to let go / A path is present yet I don’t have the heart to walk on it / How long would it take to be able to say, “I am okay”

24. Scarabia Dorm Outro: “Circles”
This is a personal song for SVT about enduring deep, heart-breaking painful days together with people you love and gaining comfort/courage through it. I feel like Kalim would be the type to encourage Jamil and other Scarabia students with the lyrics of the song. I saw some voice line from somewhere in which he says something like “just dance and have some coconut water to feel better,” so I could believe that he’d call a group singing session in hopes that it would make everyone happier. I usually don’t like songs with children singing in them, but the tasteful way “Circles” does it feels especially touching, and in relation to TWST, it brings up the vision of the childlike cheerfulness and kindness of Kalim and the sad/desperate child within Jamil. Perhaps one day, the pain would be healed and they could both shine in their own ways.
Let’s all sing together / So that our loud singing would hide the sadness / It will be okay, like the hands of a clock / It will find its place again after going in circles / Remember that we’re always together / I won’t let go of your hand that never changes

I really didn't know what I was getting myself into when I decided to write a whole short essay for each song.

But at least it makes me think more carefully about why I chose them, I guess.

Part 6: Pomefiore

25. Pomefiore Dorm Intro: “Fallin’ Flower”
I mainly chose the song because of the imagery of flowers. It’s actually a song with a hopeful feeling to it, which is obviously not where any chapters of TWST begin. But Pomefiore is all about beauty, and what could be the timeless representation of beauty but flowers?
Falling towards you / I want to see you right now / Someday, surely, you’d be in my heart / I am a flower (2x) / Because I believe in letting beautiful flowers bloom / …

26. Vil: “I Wish”
It was hard to pick a song for Vil since “Fear” and “Fallin’ Flower” were used for intros. But i think this one somewhat reflects his inner conflict and feeling like he is missing the thing he wants most, and it also reflects all the things he can never express to others, especially the one he envies.

27. Epel: “Clap”
I picked this song because I feel like the sound fits Epel’s wish to become tough and strong, and like the lyrics list out, all sorts of ‘unfortunate’ things happen to Epel (in his opinion) and a lot of things just do not go his way. I feel like this song could represent how he could vent his stress from the pressure placed on him by a certain someone. Just like screaming at a beach as the sun sets, right?

28. Rook: “Spider”
This song is a solo from Seventeen’s Hoshi. This pick was a no-brainer for me, lol. “Spider” is most definitely a romance song, but all the comparisons of a spider’s web and navigating its trap compares well to Rook’s obsession with beauty and with hunting big prey or being hunted by them. (Rook, sometimes you’re hilarious but you’re hands-down creepy to almost everyone.) Mainly, I thought this song could kind of express his hunter’s feeling and the thrill of danger.
Like a spider, you keep me entrapped / So that we, who are entangled, cannot escape / Like a spider, I enjoy (being) inside of a puzzle

29. Pomefiore Dorm Outro: “Shining Diamond”
Despite everything that goes down, Pomefiore continues to be amazing. They learn that all that matters is that they know and prove to themselves that they are the best, even if the rest of the world doesn’t acknowledge their efforts in the way they deserve. All they have to do is keep rising and they will be the “shining diamonds.”

30. (Bonus) NRC Tribe: “Hit”
This one is really just a big fantasy scenario for me, haha. It’s just cool imagining the NRC Tribe performing “Hit” at the SDC, because for Seventeen, it’s a song about being united to rise to the top of the world and proving themselves to the world through overflowing passion. I felt that was a lot like what NRC Tribe wanted to convey. I attached a video of Seventeen’s choreography for this song because it completes the fantasy to envision them dancing to a variation of this, lol. It’s a monster choreo, though, so I feel like the freshmen would be dying initially, but knowing how strict Vil is, he’d make sure they were absolutely perfect and in sync, just like Seventeen does.
Fun fact: Seventeen is well known in kpop for being self-producing artists in music and choreography and for being pretty much the most in sync boy group there is despite having 13 members. Also, “Hit” choreography was nominated for a Best Male Performance award at a certain award show the year it came out, but due to the sheer amount of votes from an even more popular group’s fans for a basic/easier choreo from said group, SVT was snubbed—and everyone knew they deserved the win. So, parallels, anyone? (If a fan of the other group happens to see this and you know what incident I’m talking about, please don’t attack me—it’s not meant to discredit them at all, your group has definitely worked hard to get to where they are now.)

Also as an addendum to the NRC Tribe entry, if I had the skill and actual motivation for it, I would make a lyric video for them 'singing' "Hit." (But I don't, so yeah.) I would give them at least a slightly better line distribution because the others should get to have some time to shine as well! (I've seen many kpop groups' fans are all about wanting fairness between the members' lines in songs.)

Part 7: Ignihyde

Disclaimer: I have been avoiding spoilers on the chapters that haven’t come out on the English server yet, so I’m picking these songs based on my perception of the characters/dorm from Special Events and vignettes.

31. Ignihyde Dorm Intro: “BOOMBOOM”
It was also hard to pick a title track that suited Ignihyde, but the sound and a few lyric snippets gave me the closest vibes to technology/science out of the title tracks. The lyrics definitely don’t fit the recluse/homebody characteristics of the students of the dorm, but what can we do, right? Maybe it fits better for the moments when they actually feel motivated to put themselves out there doing something they really like. I also feel like Idia’s heart must be jumping out of his chest every time he has to talk to someone, so “every day boom boom” is pretty legit.

32. Idia: “GAM3 BO1”
I have been feeling too proud about this selection. It’s not like Idia is in my list of top favorite characters or that I wrote this song, obviously, but how was it this perfect?? Idia the GAM3 BO1 right?? I was not a fan of the song’s sound when I first listened to it, but it really suits the whole vibe well, with the retro(?) gaming sounds and all. The lyrics are full of witty gaming/online references as well (if you go to the actual video on YouTube there should be further notes in the comments). Of course, this is only one side of Idia but it definitely shows his reclusive side who is usually only comfortable staying in his room gaming and communicating through a digital format. He also doesn’t have a lot of friends, so . . . (Ortho said it, not me. xD) I think basically the whole song matches him from beginning to end. On another note, I wonder if Idia is the type of person who would yell at a stranger he’s playing with for not being good at the game, haha. If I played with him I’d certainly have to be carried, non-gamer that I am.

33. Ortho: “Beautiful”
This song is meant to represent Ortho’s innocence in how he sees the world and the way he loves soaking in everything about others and the way people do things. I feel like he would be the type to wander around NRC campus by himself sometimes and observe other people. Also, he thinks about Idia so much, he’s so sweet and cute.

34. Ignihyde Dorm Outro: “All My Love”
Since I still don’t know what goes down in Chapter 6, I chose this song because I feel like the lyrics probably represent the relationship between the Shroud brothers. Probably there’s some huge elements of guilt and gratitude combined in their love from what little I collected from Wish Upon a Star and a small spoiler. So I’m just gonna go with that. Whatever the real story ends up being, I know it’s going to be sad.
I only have a big heart that wants to give you everything / Me, who has become pathetic, I’m a fool who’s only receiving / At some point, I started hating myself / I’m even more apologetic towards you / … / When I often see you tired with your head down / Me, who doesn’t know what to do, what can I possibly do? / I’m really sorry / My love only amounts to this / But thank you for staying by my side

Part 8: Diasomnia

Disclaimer: I have been avoiding spoilers on the chapters that haven’t come out on the English server yet, so I’m picking these songs based on my perception of the characters/dorm from Special Events and vignettes.

35. Diasomnia Dorm Intro: “Rock with you”
I felt like “Rock with you” would be a good pick for Diasomnia because it seems like the four of them seem like such a squad. They are all loyal to the others and it seems like they would do anything to help if one was in trouble. Well, maybe Sebek wouldn’t feel like helping Silver, lol.

36. Malleus: “IF you leave me”
I picked this song because I thought about the fact that because Malleus is a fae whose life spans centuries upon centuries, it would be inevitable that he would have to see people he cares about die while his existence would keep going on ever so slowly. He also has this level-up line where he says to us that he suddenly is afraid of losing MC. So I felt like a song about worrying about someone you love dearly possibly being gone from your life one day suits him. Malleus sad boi hours, anyone?
You’re my (one and only) / (You know) my heart / Hug (me) more / I hate tomorrow without you (I need you, I love you, only you baby) / I’m inside a world called you, so whatever you give me is precious / I hope we remain like this forever

37. Silver: “Heaven’s Cloud”
This is probably the song out of all of Seventeen’s discography that sounds like a light and soft dream, which is perfect for sleepy Silver. I think that’s what they were trying to portray in the song anyways, a paradise-like place where two people can meet once upon a dream (yes, that was intentional

). So yeah, this is probably what Silver’s dreams would sound like.
If we were to fall to the ground from here / Even when it turns into us meeting for the first time / So we could immediately recognize each other / Give me your (4x) / Love, love cloud

38. Sebek: “Run to you”
So, fun fact, this song is fondly referred to by fans as Seventeen’s anime opening song because it sounds like the opening song of an anime. That does bring to my mind a whole overdramatic montage of Sebek screaming for Malleus and running all over campus searching for him, hahaha. Due to the lyrics talking about searching for someone you care about, it reminded me of how (over)zealous and (over)protective Sebek is over Malleus. He sure is dedicated.
Even though I don’t know where you are / I follow straight my heart’s compass / By looking at the map drawn in my heart, slowly searching / As long as I could find you, so what if it’s a bit far / … / Until I arrive you have to be well / Right now, looking for you

39. Lilia: “Ash”
I chose this song for both the lyrics and the sound. I feel like the really tough and more dark electronic elements fit Lilia’s vibe (I mean, this dude banshee screams in lullabies and smashed his guitar during his club’s performance, so… xD). In addition, Lilia has seen and done a lot in his very long life. In the Wish Upon a Star event, he wished for peace between the peoples of Twisted Wonderland since it’s a precarious and hard-won thing. He is also a guardian for the other Diasomnia members and undoubtedly has done a lot to protect them up until this point.
I’ll become the umbrella of the desert / Protecting us from burning up / New things, new form / Leave this lonely place into a new world / If just your voice remains / Make a choice, do or die / Oh, the handful that’s left from everything burning / Ash (4x) / … / Do or die, I’m a player / I’m confident in this game, tens of thousands of chances / I’m just making choices

40. Diasomnia Dorm Outro: “Smile Flower”
Since I don’t know what’s going to happen in Chapter 7 either, I felt like “Smile Flower” was a safe choice for Diasomnia’s outro. Again, there are themes of gratitude and apology, as well as a sense of happiness for being together with those you love—or even being able to smile in the times when you cannot be together anymore.
Because we are together, I’m able to smile / Because it’s you too, I’m able to cry / So what can’t I do? / Whenever and wherever we are / Even if we could not be together, just like always / Our smile flowers will bloom / I’ll be the spring to your smile

Part 9: Ramshackle

41. Grim: “Don Quixote”
Grim should be honored to be getting this queen of songs—lol jk. I chose this song because it reflects Grim’s determination to become a top mage despite people looking down on him or doubting him. He’s sure got lofty ideas in his head, though he’s got a LONG way to go (in many ways) before becoming truly deserving of being called ‘the great Grim.’

I chose this song because the MC is basically the official photographer of Night Raven College.

We’re collecting all the memories around here, so this song is perfect for us. It’s about taking pictures of someone special and capturing those precious memories. I like the idea of the character card pictures being taken by us, because it’s as if we took a lot of really lovely candid shots of the boys.
