  • I love seeing pictures of Edna as people get their copies! This one is my favorite:

  • I live! On the heels of Edna - actually 10 days before, but I didn't find out until the same day Edna released - comes Wyldblood Press's anthology From the Depths, which features stories about the briny deep, including one of mine!

"Sea Change" is the story of a salty lesbian ex-sea captain, the boy who simps for her, & the sea-goddess she never got over.

Links are on my Linktree. Scroll down to "Read My Short Stories," click the first link, and then click "see all."

(Or you can google, but if you do, google "From the Depths Mark Bilsborough" to make sure you get the right one.)

  • What an exhausting but delightful event! I had such a lovely time talking about the book, and it seems like people enjoyed it. If you joined me at tonight's virtual launch party, thank you!

  • Mageheart That looks so fancy and official!

(And so convenient for sending to friends!)

  • Snoink OMG, so I loved the interview, but also I laughed so hard when you talked about being a casual birder because YES. I love birds and birding and going out into nature and seeing ALL THE BIRDS, and people know they can always come to me if they've seen a bird and want to identify it, but like... the serious birders are SO EXTREME about the whole thing. You would think that it was a hardcore competition with the way they go about it, lol.
    Apr 18, 2023

BluesClues The good thing about the serious birders is that if you go out birding with your silly little binoculars and your single field guide, they'll be like, "Here, look at this!! Use my lens!! Here's the picture in my highly specialized field guide that weighs 5 pounds! Look right there between those two branches--" so at least you'll see something you probably would've missed otherwise, but my goodness it's overwhelming XD

By "it" I again mean "an audiobook" and by "happening" I mean WE'RE FULLY FUNDED SO IT IS IN FACT ACTUALLY HAPPENING

Anything over the original goal goes towards funding book events for me, as well as more and better preorder goodies! The audiobook can be preordered on the Kickstarter page.

By "it" I mean "an audiobook" and by "happening" I mean "my publisher is going to open a crowdfund"! Since Hansen House is a very small, fairly new press with limited resources, they have limited resources and haven't been able to produce audiobooks yet.

But thanks to the interest in Remarkable Retirement - and specifically the many requests for an audiobook from Tumblr - they figure we might have enough interest to fundraise for an audiobook! So here we are.

The crowdfund isn't open yet, but you can follow it on Kickstarter if you want to be notified when it goes live!

IcyFlame This is the first thing I've ever backed on kickstarter so I'm glad it's coming to fruition! <3

  • Some fantastic entries for my final proof giveaway - #TheRemarkableArtOfEdnaFisher , which has entrants creating Remarkable Retirement-inspired art for their chance to win the last of my paperback proofs! So far, there are some drawings, a makeup look, and a cosplay, and I love all of them!

    See the artwork here.

  • So happy to have this blurb for Remarkable Retirement from SJ Whitby, author of the Cute Mutants series! SJ gets this book SO WELL, and I've been thinking about "at heart, this is a love story" since I saw the blurb <3

Can you believe it's only two weeks from release day??

Mageheart that's such a fitting and sweet blurb!!!

and i can't wait for the launch party! i already marked my calendar for the online one.

  • Edna's on a list of most exciting new fantasy releases BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY the list's author referred to me as "beloved short story author E.M. Anderson" and I am absolutely tickled by it

    Image

    Snoink WHERE IS IT WRONG.
    Apr 4, 2023

BluesClues I MEAN I'M HAPPY ABOUT IT I just also think "beloved" in regards to an author implies a certain amount of reach that I'm 1000% positive my short stories don't have??

  • Being super vague about this on Twitter and everywhere else until the line-up is officially announced BUT

I was accepted as a panelist for WriteHive's virtual conference in June!

I was rejected as a panelist for an in-person book festival that I applied to far earlier (I'm still going, but I'll be a vendor in Indie Author Alley and have to pay to have a table there), so when I got WriteHive's email last night I was like, "Hmm, do I really want to open a rejection RIGHT before bed."

    But it was an acceptance!

I'll be part of two panels/presentations: one on writing plot twists and one on writing synopses. I may also be doing query critiques. The panels will be pre-recorded, with an option for me to also be there live for a Q&A (which I would love to do).

No details are publicly available yet from WriteHive (which is why this is the only place I'm announcing this right now), but check out their website to keep updated!

    IcyFlame this is so cool!

In the winter months, snowstorms and rainfall in the Patagonian Ice Fields can drastically affect the landscape. Worsened by heavy winds, such storms can reduce visibility and lead to glacial calving, ice collapses, and avalanches. During these conditions, travel is not advised.
