Let's chat a bit about our protagonist and antagonist. One of the challenges was to think about how similar or different they really are. If your protag and antag are similar in a lot of aspects but different in some important parts, that makes them foils to each other. Foils are really interesting because how they highlight each other's traits can convey the themes and messages of your story. Feel free to share how you think your protag and antag interact with each other in this way in the comments below, and to complete the challenge in the PlanMo club forums!

Here's my difficult plot point.
Just as some background information: Ren and Aruna are both mutants living in the Mutation Zone. That means they each have special powers (though said powers are hard to use and come with physical drawbacks, as well as the risk of turning into a monstery creature under certain circumstances). The 'families' are groups of mutants that control certain territories within the Mutation Zone and help protect it, and the unmutated people, from said monstery creatures. Kingpiece is a fellow mutant who is trying to conquer the whole Mutation Zone in order to impose her own rules on it.
Now, the plot point in question:
Ren and Aruna are following Kingpiece's operatives around to try and understand their strategy so that they can stop Kingpiece from taking over the whole of the mutation zone. Aruna is doing this herself despite being a family head because she's a bit of a control freak.
The operatives go to see members of the Bridge family, a family of medium power that live under a bridge, and challenge them to duels. I'm not sure exactly how many duels there will be. I'm thinking of there being three duels in total, but only one that is really focused on.
After Kingpiece's operatives win all three duels, Kingpiece goes to the businesses surrounding the Bridge family, and some of them pledge their allegiance to her. But because Kingpiece only wants 'the strongest' in the new mutation zone, she immediately disbands two of the businesses that are closer to failing.

This psychological theory might be an interesting place to start or to inspire you in thinking about your protagonist's motivations. You can read about it in this article from ThoughtCo.

Hiya Planners! Today's challenge of focus is the 'Outline a difficult plot point' challenge. (Remember you can find all of the challenges in the master post in the club forum.)
Today, we're calling on you to post your difficult plot points on the club wall. A plot point is a specific event or moment in time in the story.
Some good questions to ask yourself when reading someone else's plot point are: does this seem believable? Why do you think this is happening in the story? How do you think it will be resolved? How would you resolve it, if you were a character in the story?
Remember a tip that often applies to reviews as well: sometimes what is needed is a note of the symptoms not a diagnosis - so be honest and ask questions back or let the writer know what is confusing.

Hi everyone, today we're going to talk about the plotting challenge! This challenge is all about getting your plot down on paper (or word doc or WFP!). Whether you choose to use a graph or a list, here are some questions to get the brain gears going. How does the story begin? When will the readers first hear about the main character's goal and how? What is the climax of the story? What are the major obstacles to their goal and when will your character encounter them?
Something to note on time: some genres are 'used to' having more timeskips than others. people might expect a more traditional chronological approach to a a fantasy adventure novel a la Tolkien, but an edgy experimental sci-fi story might be expected to have scenes that come in a different order than they occurred in 'real' time. Of course, you can always play with those expectations!

Liminality Shambles are still great if you manage to get them down on paper! There's no need to follow a very structured idea of what a 'plot' can be. Sometimes just a few scribblings or a doodly mindmap of your concept gets the job done. c:

Elevator Pitch: An Anachronistic Aye
Three girls die as the result of a massive chain of mysterious alterations in time. The forces that manage time have to scramble to find the source of these anomalies and put and end to it before it can cause more damage. Meanwhile, the girls have to deal with the complications of being stuck between life and death, all the while mastering brand new powers and completing a trial that they must complete should they wish to return to the land of the living.
IcyFlame I love the first line of this! It's immediately throwing me into the key plot point and already I have a million questions.
If I'm picking something to improve on it would be this:completing a trial that they must complete should they wish to return
Completing something they have to complete seems a bit trivial, maybe you could change to something more like 'completing a trial for their only chance to return to the land of the living'.
