A Reason To Sleep

My sleeping patterns right now are hopelessly messed up. I’ve been going to bed at 1 am, waking up at 7 am, then napping for an hour or two sometime in the late afternoon / early evening. I definitely need to get back into the mode of sleeping for eight to nine hours in a stretch, but I’m finding it difficult! So if this post from lifehack can’t motivate me, I don’t know what will:
Those whose nightly sleep fell from seven hours to five hours or less were 1.7 times as likely to die (compared with those who stayed at seven hours) over the next 11 to 17 years. Their risk of cardiovascular-related death was double.

I’m an insomniac, so I get way less sleep than you do, and I’m still alive…. so there’s hope.
Great blog, btw. I followed through from a link at Inkthinker.

Wow. I only manage five or six hours a night. That’s not good is it? I’d better try to get to bed earlier…

Oh no. I’ve had really bad insomniatic tendencies since I started school, and with 8 am lectures four days a week… yeah. four hours of sleep or less a night, no naps… I’ll be dead in time to graduate, I figure (then again, I wonder how many deaths are cause by driving with that little sleep? Good I don’t have a car, then, eh? ;)). Now I just really want to do a study on this — see what my psych class does to me? It would make for interesting story fodder, though.

Aww, we’re all going to die. =] And death causes less sleep due to more stress and anxiety. Vicous cycle..

I guess my life span isn’t that good…

YWS is the only reason I’m not getting enough sleep tonight…thanks a lot Nate! I’m kidding! If I die, then so be it…I love writing too much to go to bed now!
