If You Get A Book Published…
Although I don’t believe it’s happened quite yet, someday a present or former member of the Young Writers Society will have their book published. The site has only been around for three years, so I imagine it has not happened yet, but I’m 90% certain that it will happen within the next two years. And when it does, it’s likely that other former or present members of YWS will follow.
So regardless if you are a present or former member of YWS when you have a book published, let me know! Unless it’s heavily satanic, I make two promises to you:
- I will buy a copy
- I will ask others to buy a copy
Number one is pretty obvious, but what do I mean by the second promise?
If your book is published, I will absolutely offer you free advertising on the Young Writers Society. Not only that, but prominent advertising as well (such as what I do for the YWS blog on the default theme) for a period of at least a week. Currently, the Young Writers Society receives over 6,500 unique visitors a month, so advertising on this site may help a lot.
However, that does depend on whether or not you were active. If you happen to be the infamous freakforchrist*, then no way! But if your name happens to be Tessitore, iced.cappuccino, Midnight, Tara, Elelel, Areida, Snoink, kitty15, Claudette, norrin_redford, Incandescence, Anair, Arvandor, or any of the other thousands of members that have or continue to contribute to the Young Writers Society, I will keep my promise to you!**
* freakforchrist is the third longest YWS member and has yet to make a single post

Awesome! And it works both ways, Nate. If you get a book published you have to advertise it across the entire site so we can all buy a copy.

If I get a book published, I think I would try and say something about YWS in the thank-yous, depending on what the publisher gods say. ;D But that’s a LONG way in the future.

I can just imagine the acknowledgement page;
I would like to give thanks to my Mum, my Dad, my Publishers, and Kitty15, Bubblewrapped, Baroness Ink, RazorBlade_Saint etc.
That page would probably be more enjoyable to read then the whole book!
