Why Living in the Middle of Nowhere isn’t Good for Internet Junkies.
Yes. So I’ve finally admitted it, I am an internet junkie. (Anyone else?)
There is a down side to the addiction. We changed internet service providers at my mothers (AKA middle of nowhere.) from dial up, to high speed internet. Being that my mother is internet stupid, and I have almost no ability with computers beyond some general stuff, HTML, and some more general stuff, I didn’t know what to do. I sat on hold with the company for two, if not more I’m sure, hours. Blah blah, we did this, we did that. I blame the internet company. Who has phone tech. support that leaves you on hold for two hours? At least I read a little while waiting.
But, amongst the mess of not having internet I learned one thing: without internet I turn into an even lazier teenager. Amazing. With internet, I’m actually [pretending to] do/doing something and will eventually meet my goals of what ever goals I had. Without internet I watch bad shows on TV and have no goals.
So I have to decide: Which is worse, being completely goalless, or wasting my time on the internet? I’m not sure yet.

Haha my computer was useless to me for two or three weeks during school in the spring and during the first week I was completely lost on what to do…I just sat in my dorm room staring at things. I read a book the first week, actually, and then I took to making an afternoon nap customary and watching shows I never watch in the middle of the day. There is nothing to do in our town, so there wasn’t really much choice.
I can definitely be an internet junkie. And without it I am definitely more lazy than usual. It’s the sad, sad truth.

*raises hand as internet junkie*
Wasting time with goals is much better.
Middle of nowhere=nothing to do=easily distracted=too much time online.

yay internet junkies!!! I’m one….but when I’m not online I am either reading, writing or working on a puzzle. I hardly ever watch TV, so I think I might just survive.
