Art

I saw this on someone’s signature, although I don’t recall who’s, and it made me laugh out loud– “Just because no one understands you does not make you an artist.” I think I seriously laughed for ten minutes.
I was just wondering how many writers on the site also dabble in something artsy? I find that often times Art and Writing go together. Do you do characatures? Portraits? Landscapes? Charcoal, lead, wax? Photography? Ceramics? Or do you even just doodle on the side of your school papers?

Wait… I thought writing was artsy.
And yes, I doodle. Mostly geometric shapes because I can’t draw anything with curves to save my life.

I’m an addicted doodler. Other than that, don’t ask me to do anything artsy, lol.

Writing isn’t a a form of art then? I’d always had the idea that the Byronic and Bohemian poets were as ‘artsy’ as people dashed with paint. o0′
Ha. But I do draw bits and pieces of things; more like doodling probably than much else. Sketches too.

Photography all the way! What about music?
Most writers I know are rather artsy/musical people, although I do know some very good writers who can’t draw, paint, photograph, or play to save their lives.

I draw a bit, I have sketched the characters in one story of mine. It takes practice just like everything, but it helps me visualize my characters better. The drawings even shows me things about them that I would not have thought of otherwise.
