Good Writing Sites

For one reason or another, the Young Writers Society isn’t always the best writing site. So here’s a list of some of my favorite writing sites on the web:
- Wordtrip: It’s active and the admin staff are great. I don’t participate much on it, but I like to check it out every now and then.
- Writer’s Beat: I hate the design & layout (gives me a head ache), but the community is active and their e-zine is great.
- Teenage Writers: This site was just brought to my attention about a month ago, and it’s a lot like YWS. There’s somewhat less of a focus on writing, but the community is like the community on YWS: friendly, good humored, and helpful. It’s an interesting place to check out.
There are of course a ton of other writing sites, but those are my favorites. As for writing sites that suck… most sites have at least some good qualities, except for one: Writing.com. As Capitalist and free-market as I am, I can say Writing.com has sold themselves out. But I’ll save that for my next post…

I’m friends with mods on Writes Beat! Unless they’ve moved somewhere else, now, I knew a lot of them when it first started. They all moved from a site I used to be one, writtingforum.com to writers beat. I didn’t like it though, I couldn’t work with it.
Then I found YWS!
