British Spellings…

I’ve been reading The Economist for a decade now, and so I’ve become very used to the British spelling of certain words. That’d be fine, but I’ve gotten so used to the British spelling that I think words like “defense” and “favor” are spelled wrong.
Anyone else have this problem?

I DO! Oh my gosh! Like ‘honour’ or ‘favourite’…it drives me nuts. I tend to use those spellings in my English papers at my college and I get marked for them =(

It’s because we spell things so much cooler!

It’ll soon be another language. And Microsoft put it in everything - garrr.

I have this problem; luckily, I’m English, so it’s not a problem.

I tend to use the English spelling for most things (mainly because we’re taught the English spelling here). But due to those pesky Americans, there’s so many different words that are spelt in two different ways… And sometimes lil’ ol’ me gets confused and ends up using the American version instead of the English version, when he’s been using the English spelling all along!
