Over the years , there has been many stories about the "gifted" people; People who seem to have strange or inhuman abilities such as flight, super-strength, invisibility , duplication and shape shifting. Scientists are now coming to believe that these stories are indeed true; yet few of these people occur, many do not live past the age of thirteen for reasons said to be unknown. Groups of scientists have constructed a team to observe these people at all times, but since they're scattered all over the world , one by one the government has taken these "specials" , as they call them, to a city called Foxend where they will live in a single home, yet experience life like before, sometimes and secretly being tested on. The scientists call this their home away from home; there's something they don't know. With every freedom there is a responsibility; with every gift, a curse. You are either a "special"or a regular

Name: Morgan Runestone (Regulars call him The Shadow, scientists call him Silent One, fellow Specials call him Silent Demon- all names spoken behind his back and when he's not earshot)
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Power: Invisiblity, which is perfect for sneaking around after curfew.
Curse: Aside from his total silence, his greatest curse is the power to fly- due to the fear of heights.
Personality: He's very quiet- dead quiet, to be exact- for a person his age, but that doesn't stop him from doing other things. He expresses his emotions by playing a violin, which is his personal favorite instrument of all the instruments in the school. However, don't let his unusual silence fool you. He has a temper that tiggers his flight power and is scared to death of snakes. Show a snake in front of him and he'll faint within a heartbeat.
History: Morgan's from a long line of pilots on his mother's side. All his life he never knew his father, so until his mother started telling him about his father- who she relentlessly refuses to speak of for some reason- Morgan took a vow of silence that's been in effect for the past nine years. At eleven years old, he went invisible and snuck into his mother's room to get some answers on his father. Unfortunately, Morgan found no information on his father. Even now, he's still under a vow of silence until his mother finally gives in and tells him about his father.
Appearance:
Up for love?: Yes a million times over, but you'll have to get past his silent act. He's a straight guy.
Theme: This suits him, since that- due to his silence- he's socially a loner.
Other: He wears a medallion under his shirt, which is the only thing he found from his mother's room eight years ago that belonged to his father. He finds it hard to wean himself of it, so he keeps it where ever he goes. In fact, he even sleep with it around his neck every night.

Changed the genders around, the male is the special and the female is the normal.

Name: Elias Haynes

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Power: He draws power from the runes engraved onto his skin, with the power he can levitate objects and himself and can also form a bit of light energy that he can use as a weapon. When his power activated the spirals on his body glow bright white.

Curse: Having this power not only causes him constant pain but is also steadily taking small bits of his sanity.

Personality: Elias is happy all the time, extremely happy to the point where others are put off by his wide smile and bright eyes. Everything about Eli is, in fact, very bright. He can illuminate a room with nothing but his presence, even when he's trying to hide he stands out. Eli is always greeting people he doesn't know, singing quietly to himself in the hallway, dancing random numbers whenever he gets bored, and playing games of checkers or chess with himself when there's nothing else to do. In public Eli always has a smile on his face, even when he's angry or upset.

Eli has two brains, that's the way he likes to see himself. There's Elias, which is himself, and then there's Saile, which is the brain that is being eaten away by his power, this insane part of him. Sai is who Eli plays his games with, talks to, and yells at when there's nobody around to hear him scream.


History: The only thing Eli remembers of his childhood was pain so horrible he was barely conscious for the first twelve years of his life. He could remember it being like knives cutting slowly and deeply into his skin over and over again for so many years. A pain that he couldn't escape and couldn't fight back because he was the one bringing it upon himself, his own body was tearing itself apart and mending itself back together.

Eli remembers waking up one day and having the pain be gone and then cutting himself and stabbing himself over again because being without the pain felt wrong and he didn't like that sense of wrong. Then, after that, all the blood, he passed out again and didn't wake up again until his thirteenth birthday.

The next time he woke he found his skin glowing and burning but he didn't mind the burn because he'd realized that existing without the familiar hurt left him empty and sad. His parents and the doctors were gathered around him when he woke and he was glowing and he was confused. They kept asking him questions that he didn't understand and all he wanted was for them to get away and as soon as he thought that everything in the room flew away from him.

Soon after that the people took him away.

Appearance: Has spiral like tattoos covering his arms, chest, and back except the ink isn't black but a type of white. The ink shows a bit like this:

Theme: The Asylum- Aiden

Other: Elias is always in pain and he doesn't know how to live without pain because the pain makes him feel complete and happy. He doesn't sleep because he says that he's slept enough for one lifetime. Sometime he will purposely flare his powers just for that extra burn.

He smokes religiously.

His room has white walls, white bed sheets, white bed frame, white dresser, white carpet, white everything. The only color in his room are his clothes which are all either blue, grey, or black.


Eli's not very smart at all, he can't write well or read because he's never had a proper education. The only thing he can do well is play music. He plays the guitar.

Gender: Female

Personality: Mai lives to make others happy. Her personal feelings mean nothing to her as long as the ones she care about are happy and. Mai is brave and strong, she is selfless and caring. She's also a bit quiet, she doesn't like big groups or giant get togethers. Crowded places unnerves her and she would sooner retreat to a quiet corner rather than jump up and start dancing. She's a really peaceful person and doesn't like or expect too much excitement with her life. She's content.

But because she's so focused on making everyone else happy she often neglects her own needs. Mai is often too drawn back and actually has paranoia. She always believes someone's watching or following her so because of this she's always second guessing her options and double checking to make sure what move she takes is not her last. She is extremely careful.

History: Mai was born into a family of hippies that taught her about finding ones self and being at peace with everything. Her parents taught her how to love other but, most importantly, to love herself - she never did learn the latter. Mai loved everything and everyone but herself. She loved the animals and the trees and the birds and the bees, but she didn't love herself. She always felt as if she was being judged by some unseen force and was never good enough for anyone even though her parents loved her very much.

When Mai's mother died she felt as if she too had gone away with her. Ever since that day the lively Mai was reduced to a quiet shy shell of herself, she was never quite the same after her mother's death and still carries that on her heart.

Personality: Eden is a strong girl with a not so forcefull personality. She isn't so much as shy , but socially awkward. Whenever she tries to be social , she talks to much, trips , and /or studders if she's not comfortable. Eden has a thing for water, but fire on the other hand , terrifies her. Baz , is one of the smartest people you will meet; she doesn't settle for less than the best. During battle and when she's in pain , she becomes more personable , it distracts her. Needles rank one of her top fears. Eden is a night owl , she is alway up past midnight , and rarely sleeps , in fear of hurting someone , or herself , with her dreams and nightmares. She has lightining reflexes and she gets scared very easily. MAny people underestimate her , but they haven't seen her true power. The absorption can make her extremely weak at points . She loves to smile ! She is thankful to the scientists in some ways, relieving her of the pain of her family. She is a ballet dancer , and she Is absolutely obsessed with music ,writing, playing , and listening to it.

History:
Baz grew up in a semi normal family on the outside, but disastorus in reality. With one brother and two sisters, she has always been the baby child. Though she is youngest, she is far from spoiled. Her parents push her to , and beyond her limit. They expect the best and get angry when they don't get it. Eden's dad is violent and destructive with an anger problem, on occasion , her threw things at Eden , saying everything was her fault. Her best friend, another special , with the power to duplicate gave Eden the realization that she had her own power. When her parents found out she had this power, they used it in bad ways. They forced her to rob stores and houses; but for once in her life she was givin the glory. Her three siblings wanted revenge, forcing her to learn offensive and defensive skills. They almost killed her. When they were about to pust it to far , the helicopter flew down to stop everything and take her away.

Age[13-19] 16
gender: Male
Personality: He's got a level-head but will always stand up for anybody ever being teased or bullied. He is also kind of a nerd (although he hates to admit it) but he doesn't care if people see him doing nerdy stuff. He's not the smoothest kid but he can get along with girls. He also has a lot of held-back sadness so if he's not doing something else you may see him staring off into space with a slightly depressed expression.
History: His family is well-off but he doesn't flaunt it.
When he was twelve his older sister, Natalie killed herself because of bullying. His parents tried to give him counseling when his sister did suicide to make sure he didn't too, but he was unresponsive.
Appearance: Usually seen wearing nice clothes and jeans. Not too fancy or different, just normal. He's also taller than most boys, about six foot one inch.

Name: James & Oliver Mitchell

Age: 19, but James was born ten minutes before Oliver.

Gender: Both male.

Power: James has the power to read minds, and Oliver has the power super-human speed.

Curse: Well, James and Oliver don't like how they're different from Regulars. With James's power, he finds some really... disturbing things. So that's definitely a disadvantage, unless he could find a way to use it against them. Oliver doesn't really like his super-speed because of how he has this laziness right after he uses his power.

Personality: James and Oliver are like two peas in a pod. They couldn't be any more identical. Both are loud, rambunctious, and definitely never apart. You should watch out for them... otherwise you'll get something in the face. Yes, that's right, they are pranksters and partners in crime. They love to make trouble, and people who like quiet... well, they should stay away from them. James and Oliver can definitely annoy easily, but they're lovable, trust me. They could be considered crowd pleasers, and could bring the light in a dark room. They are lovable.

History: James and Oliver were born on April Fools, which is a very appropriate date for them. They were welcomed into a large family, who were Regulars. James and Oliver didn't know about their powers until they turned 9. On the birthday party, James could easily hear what his mother was thinking, which he found strange. Oliver was told to get some candles for the cake, and he disappeared, when you blink, he was there. This definitely scared the family. Oliver loved to play with fire when he was little, and gave James a little burn. It was severe, but disappeared quickly. Now, you can't really see it.

Appearance: Just like they're personality, they look identical. Both have fiery red hair and large, brown eyes. James and Oliver are both tall and stocky, with a bit of a lanky, yet leaner figure. They usually would wear the same trousers and shoes, but different colored shirts so people could identify which is which. But a way you could identify them is by a scar. James has a scar on his left forearm, though it's rather small and hard to find.

Gender: Female

Personality: Violet is a very sweet and adorable girl, yet very hard to figure out. She is sort of quirky and random, but she is assertive and serious. Violet is a fun-loving girl who just loves to throw her head back and laugh. She may be a bit on the stereotypical blonde side (if you know what I mean), and may take time to get inside jokes and whatsoever. She likes to believe in things she wants to believe in... like Santa. Violet is not a very quiet or timid girl, but she definitely knows when it's time to toughen up and be serious.

History: Violet was born to Maxine and Charles Beauxton, two French business people. She was raised to know what's right from wrong. Violet was very wealthy, but not spoiled, and had a pretty happy childhood until her parents divorced. Her mother was seeing a Norwegian man and divorced her father once she was convinced to elope with him. Violet was raised with her father ever since, but she didn't really have a good connection. She never talked to him, but even if she tried, he wouldn't bother. She wanted her mother/daughter relationship back, but couldn't find her.

Appearance: Violet is a beautiful French girl, who looks like her mother. With the blonde curls and fair complexion, she's an exact replica. Violet's skin is a healthy shade of pale, and has freckles dotted on her face. She has a tall and willowy figure, which makes it look like she's gliding when she's walking. Violet loves to wear bright, happy colors, like what she's wearing in the picture.

Name: Elizabeth (Liza) Irene Turner

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Personality: Liza isn't really shy, though she's generally quiet. She's not much of a talker. Liza isn't naturally this way: she's really depressed, though. She's in the new town to escape her sorrows. Liza's got a few joys in her life, though. She loves hockey and swimming and pottery. She's not one for school, ADHD, but she tends to flock toward the nerds because they are the most accepting of her quietness. Most of the time, she daydreams and listens to music. Hopefully, her emotions don't leak out.

Appearance: Liza has mud-brown hair, blue eyes, and pale freckled skin. Her eyelashes are really long, her lips somewhat thin, her nose the average button. She's slightly taller than average, a little skinny but wiry and lean. Her hair is usually worn in a braid or ponytail, depending on her mood, and she tends toward shapeless hoodies and jeans. Always on her feet, besides in sports, are her trusty old navy Chucks.

History: Liza came from a wealthy background, but her father died in 9/11. Ever since then, when Liza was just a little kid, her mother hadn't been alright. She got into drugs and ended up commiting suicide, leaving her and her little siblings, Isabel and Sean, with their stiff but kind-hearted grandparents. Once in their home, their life was relatively normal. Liza readjusted. In ninth grade, she even got a new boyfriend. Until he started hitting her. Then, she couldn't take it. She applied in an exchange program and left.

Name: Carly Aleppo "Bunny; Bun"

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Power: Influence over electricity and the power to move through electrical wires. (Recycled )

Curse: She can be in water or else she'll electrocute herself and has to take get clean with a damp sponge and even that still shocks her a small bit.

She can't be out in the rain or else she electrocutes herself and everyone around her because the water makes her powers go crazy.

Personality: Carly is spacey. She's a ditz and a klutz. She's everyone at once and is always twitching and jumping like a spazz. She's always running around and doing things that should exhaust her but Carly is never tired. She just keeps going and going like the Energizer Bunny, which is where she earned the nickname Bunny or Bun. Carly talks fast is is constantly switching topics and letting other things catch her attention. She's always hyper and the only time she settles down is when things get serious. Carly not moving around in some way is a sure sign that something is wrong.

Even though she's mostly happy there are some days when Carly runs out of power and she's like a completely different person, her whole demeanor changes.
History: Carly was born in a very happy household. She is the youngest of three children and has kept her two parents throughout all of her life. Carly's parents always knew she was special. When she was little whenever she'd walk through the house all the appliances would go crazy. They weren't scared of her or thought she was a monster because she was their little girl, if not a bit hyperactive. The family decided as a whole it would be best for Carly to go away because she would have a better chance of living.

Name: Maxxie Heights

Age[13-19]: 18

Gender: Male

Personality: Max is a quiet shy guy. He doesn't speak much and is very laid back and mellow. He would be the happiest person ever if he could just find a nice, quiet, calm, shady place to sit down and draw for the day. Maxxie is very easy to please, he finds joy in the simplest of things and is always satisfied with what he has. He's not really sad, as some people think him to be, or anti-social, he just prefers quiet settings.

Max believe in being true to himself and never changing who he is for the betterment of others.

History: Maxxie grew up in a chatoic household. His dad was old fashioned and part of the navy and his mom was the typical stay at home mom that followed the man's orders like a servant. In his house Max could never find peace because his dad was always pressuring him to play sports and do "boy things". Max never felt home at home. One day, at the age of fourteen, when Max's parents were out for dinner Max brought over his boyfriend, but because dinner was inexplicably cut short Max's parents got home early and caught him on the sofa with another guy. Max was sent away immediately.

Appearance: His hair is dark brown and his eyes are the color of hay. He's tall and slim and has a tattoo of the word "Art" on his left wrist.

Up for love?: Yes, but the dear boy is gay.

Name: Adara Vigil
Age: [13-19] 17
Gender: Girl
Power: Controls fire
Curse:Using her abilities too aggressively can seriously hurt her. She's been taken to the ER twice on the account of third-degree burns.

Personality: Adara likes to be different. Her powers don't usually inconvenience her, and she takes them as a gift. On the other hand, she does struggle with the feeling that she can't completely "connect" with the regulars or honestly anyone at times. She has an upbeat and sometimes tomboyish attitude, and definitely has a reputation as daredevil athlete. In general, she just likes to look at things from a positive perspective.

History: She was really close to her dad, as her mom left when she was young, and when he died of cancer four years ago Adara was put into foster care. After a few bad houses and a little too much abuse, she ran away. Living by her father's last words of a life of adventure and meaning, she spent a lot of time riding railroad cars and getting through life on her own. Even though she raised and educated herself, she's very intelligent and knows more than most her age. She found her powers at a young age, ones that almost killed her not long before her father died, and is left with the scars to prove it.

Name: Catarina Night *Called Nightshade by the Specials*
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Power: Can use the power of darkness to conceal herself cause nightmares etc. etc.
Curse: The darkness collects secrets from everyone and she can understand what they are even if she doesn't want to and alerts her
Personality: She is very quiet, sweet, very controlled when it comes to her emotions because that's what her powers respond to, very compassionate tends to listen more then she talks.
History: She discovered her power at a young age (think 7-9) and couldn't control it. Because of her abilities she made her mother go insane because she made Catarina mad. She didn't mean to and is now terrified of her ability. She and her brother got sent to a foster home and after that they were seperated. She recently found her brother and loves him to death.
Appearance: Thick, wavy, and long white blonde hair to the curve of her waist, she has very fair skin on her arms you can see her veins, electric blue almond shaped eyes, high cheekbones, thin, curvy,5'10 and very graceful.
Up for love? : Yes.
Theme: Exodus by Evanescence.
Other: She has an extremely strong sense of smell and can identify everyone just by their scent. She has a beautiful singing voice. She can play the violin. She has her Ipod with her at all times and you rarely find her without a book. Loves to draw. She grew up in the bayou and speaks French and Spanish fluently. She loves to cook and is extremely good at it. She has an extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs and can make teas, poultices, lotions, etc for almost any minor ailment.

Personality: Cocky, loudmouthed, sarcastic, and hyperactive.
History: He was seperated from her sister when he was 11 and was recently united with her.
Appearance: A short shock of dark brown hair, tan skin, and jet black eyes. 6'10, muscular.
Up for love?: Yes he's bisexual though.
Theme: Lose Control by Evanescence.
Other: Loves to draw and play the guitar.
