does anybody know of some good online writing contests?
@yubbies21, @Cole, I know both of you have been in some contests.

The only contests I've participated in have been for local newspapers, this website, and for national/international competitions.

Oof...I haven't entered anything but my town's annual Remembrance Day Writing contest in about a year... I really couldn't say...

Messenger, I'd start checking out local newspapers/newsletters, seeing if your local library and public school has any information when it comes to contests. There's bound to be some near you if you really want to enter a bigger contest than what's here.
Also, don't forget to check out the Contests subform here on YWS. There's all kind of contests there too.

Writer's Digest also has a few contests. Various magazines often have contests going on, and you just have to hunt around!
