I know a little bit about the history of the toga party in American universities, but does anyone know how popular they are these days? Is it mostly just a relic of the 1960's and 70's?
Please, sit down before you fall down.

They're still definitely around. This one night back when I was living in California I was hanging out drinking with some people at Long Beach State and a few of them were in togas because they were planning to go to some toga party, but I don't think they ever made it there...so anyway yeah I don't think they're as popular as they used to be but they do exist and I'm sure almost every university has them every once in a while.
Animal House is based on real events at SIUC, you know.

AH, the heritage my (former) school graces the world with. Going there has given me the gift of carrying on that tradition!
