I was wondering if anyone knew Latin for a phrase I need to use: "return to the stars."

If anyone could translate that to Latin for me, or find a phrase in Latin that's similar, I'd be extremely grateful!

To return to stars - Repeto Stellae . I think it is fine this way. Not sure tho`

I'm 99% sure its reverto ut astrum. But I could be wrong. Hope this helped.

ad= to and it must be followed by the ablative....

ad astra revennio, maybe. I can't remember wherever stars is accusative or not, but I think so. If that's right, then it's astra.

Then again, your friend could be right.

What's the base word? The base word for Amare, amavi, amatum, amamus is amo. First thing we learn in latin.

-re = to ____ (to love)
-vi = I ____ed (I loved)
-um = _____ed (loved)
-mus = we ____ (we love)
-bimus = we all will _____ (we will love)

etc. Just tag on the appropriate ending to the base word (which, unless it's the first ending, won't be in that list above.)

Think so. Latin's a bit rusty though, so might not want to use me for grammar. But what's the base word for return? I know 'ad' is 'to' but 'errare' is 'to wander'. There's my confusion.

you all seem to agree that it goes 'to the stars' (ad astras) but the one that's up in the air is the word for return.

“Cum Tacent Clamant” can mean “With their silence, they shout” and “When they are silent, they shout.” It literally translates into “With silence, they shout.” Cum = With, Tecent = silence, and Clamant = they shout (because of the –nt ending). Latin doesn’t have a lot of words, but it has a lot of endings to help fill the gap. I don’t know if there is one word for ‘they’ but I know there’s an ending for it: nt.

I just thought that you would use the –re ending on the base word for return, then put the word for stars.
