I believe that the white is set to represent the innocence of the person, where a seed is planted to sprout the creativity of expressive literature. It could also act as a veil of anonymity, as to disguise the member, so the public may not put an image to the name. However, he does not realise that by doing this, he is described as the one without an avatar, and therefore an outcast within a moral standing. I believe the member is trying to claw his way to notoriety, and become accepted, both through the medium of the Internet and within reality.
