Five hundred points is:
5 good reviews of works out of the green room.
4 works if you find them in the green room at 150 a pop.
3 works if you review well and they are older than 72 hrs I think it is.

So a comination of internet problems and faulty time conversions means I am throwing this in now. Whoops.

Spoiler! :
11.

Today I learnt that oil
and canvas can wrap colour
around a mood I didn't know I had;
the cloying transformation
between unaware and alive.

Next time we practice
how sound reverberates
beats into your mouth
like a pulse under my thumb.
I like you as an enemy, but I love you as a friend.

Thanks for the entries everyone and for those who asked, posting in this thread is entirely acceptable, as is linking to your NaPo. We acknowledge that a lot of poems written in April are works in progress so you don't need to post them to the site.

Judging has commenced and the results will be announced either late today or very early tomorrow.

The results are now in for the first round! The judges were mostly agreed on their choices, though it did get close a couple of times, but in the end the scores were averaged and a winner was decided!

The poets in bold below were the winners of their round and please see the updated chart for who will be facing who in the second round of April Madness: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk93 ... b23780.jpg

If you didn't win, don't be disheartened! Our champion last year made a come-back from the Loser's Heat so our winner could be anyone.

Remember, everyone is still in the contest and should therefore post a poem between the 14th and 16th April. Those in the Loser's Heat will be called upon to post a second poem later this week.

CelticaNoir vs @Tenyo vs @Meshugenah vs replacement poet @ongoeslife

@Aley vs @megsug vs @rhiasofia
@PenguinAttack vs @Birkhoff vs @Laure

Penalties
PenguinAttack: -3 for late entry of poem.
fortis: Disqualified for submitting poem after the judging process had commenced.
CelticaNoir: Disqualified for not submitting a poem.

@CelticaNoir and @fortis, please feel free to post a poem so that you might act as a replacement poet should someone drop out this round. First opportunity will be given to fortis.
