Bound to already be one of these around here somewhere, but still....

What are you favourite lyrics right now? Most beautiful? Most powerful? Relate to your life/feelings/situation? Most comical? Most reminiscent? Sound good? Or simply just stick in your head?
Oh the trees!

Signs by Five Man Electrical Band
If youve never heard of them/it, go, go now, its true to everyword, everywhere.

Mellow - by Reef album: Replenish

I hear the ocean beat upon the shore outside my room.
Calling me up from sleep to listen to her graceful tune.
She makes me feel alive, her power more than words can say.
Send shivers through my person, clears my head to face the day.
...I pray
...The tides will rise and fall again.
I see the sun rise up into a cloudless sky of blue.
Coaxing the shadows back to let the sun's light shine on through.
I feel it touch my skin, its warmth glows through right to my bones.
Drifts softly through my body, heats my flesh then stirs my soul.
...I pray
...The sun will surely rise today.
...And I will not take for granted
...That what is there for me
Oh the trees!
Take me back to London please!!!

Oh, geez...please don't get me started...

'We're only liars, but we're the best
We're only good for the latest trends
We're only good because you can have almost-famous friends
Besdies, we've got such good fashion sense...'

-Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued, Fall Out Boy
Makes me crack up every time. :P

'I feel forgotten
Feel like rotting
Do you feel the same?
Adolescence just can't make sense
It's calling my name...

I take a look around
At all the things I've found
I call it blind hatred...
Maybe if you stopped awhile
And maybe if you'd smile
You'd realize that we're all the same.'

-Road To Acceptance, Green Day
Puts my exact thoughts into words...

'Give me, oh, a kiss good-night and everything will be all right
Tell me that I won't feel a thing
So give me novacaine

Out of body and out of mind
Kiss the demons out of my dreams
I get the funny feeling; that's all right
Jimmy says it's better than here'

-Give Me Novacaine, Green Day
I don't know...it's just...great...
(Hehe, please don't get me started on Jesus of Suburbia yet...I shall wait until more people have posted...)
Graffiti is the most passionate form of literature there is.

Ooh saw the word Novocaine there and immediately got Novocaine For The Soul by Eels in my head:

"Life is good, and i feel great,
Coz mother says i was, a great mistake.
Novocaine for the soul.
You better give me something
To fill the hole
Before I sputter out."

Then I went off on an Eel thing and got Beautiful Freak in my head:

"Your such a beautiful freak,
I wish there were more just like you.
You're not like all of the others,
And that is why, I love you.
Beatiful freak, beautiful freak...

Some people think you have a problem,
But that problem lies only with them
Just coz you are not like the others
But that is why, I love you,
Beautiful freak, beautiful freak."
Oh the trees!
Take me back to London please!!!

Signs is a great song...

Yeled Rechov (Street Child)
by: Subliminal and the Shadow
(English Translation-it sounds better in Hebrew)

This is a story about a child of the street that never learned to love
He learned only to fight and steal
Because there are no longer good people in the middle of the road
The opposite today people kill for money.
The illness that makes you addicted to paper
When you have a lot you have become rich
But the meaning of this you forgot long ago
You are addicted to ready cash.
You're pressed and it seems like there's no more juice in you
Inject; another check and some money in your pocket
Everything suddenly looks the same
You sold your life for the greatness of a number and nothing is left.
You simply wanted more and didn't know why
When you had so much you wanted many times more
Bills from wall to wall under the carpets
When it became cool outside, you froze inside.

Chorus

Another day ends with fear, he can't sleep
At night without rest, he looks for room
Another day ends, he can't sleep
At night without rest, he looks just to love
Another punk who pretends to be tremendous
In an unsuccessful world he is forced to survive
On one shoulder, a devil; on the other, an angel
Not present-he is defeated; a reversal like 69.
Harmful profit; pistol ready for action
Living in an illusion (ashlaya); more correct-on borrowed time (hashala)
If they don't give to you, take; if they beat you, kill
The undefeated boy turned sixteen.
Idiot, he thought he would live forever
He didn't expect to get a bullet to the head
Stabs and tears, graveyards, nightmares at night
Daughters of his friends are whores
Everyone hot-tempered, games of strength
Another dead; killed when he just grew up.
Don't say "Too bad, another criminal child"
Finished the university of life with a "of blessed memory" degree.

Chorus

To selfishness with big eyes; no girls, no money, nowhere to live, no class
Bling bling "Show your glory"
The whole world runs from you.
The sky is the limit and it doesn't matter how much you jump you won't get there
But he takes clothes from lines without sweating
You see, everything has a price even life, just show cash
I said this isn't Monopoly, you will fall
In this sickness you don't fight with Tylenol
Suddenly different things happen a door squeaks
Steps, flickers from lights, you are in a cell.
Easy money only exists in movies, fantasies, and sometimes in the world of crime
Your scratch has become a real wound
They call this lust for ill-gotten gains.

Chorus

Monkey sees monkey does, get a shelter
Weigh the steps well before an act
Be careful not to grab a bullet to the head
Child, free yourself! Donkey, don't be heavy and stubborn like a mule
This is important-think twice before you return
It's too bad that this has to be just another sad story
Because once you are up once you are down
That you won't finish with your face spread on a floor tile
Because the one that lights the rifle magazine first is cool
He's dead? No, in the jail until his dying day
He pretends to be an tremendous pimp
Go, you simpleton, flee you will not beat the pistol
He thought he had a cover but the cover ran away
Mountains feet flew flee left him
Turn everyone knows you have balls
Just don't end like a porno movie exploding on the face.
"He who takes a life...it is as if he has destroyed an entire world....but he who saves one life, it is as if he has saved the world entire" Talmud Sanhedrin 4:5

please dont post the whole lyrics, noone is going to read through it all.

Its like posting this -

Woo Hoo Hooooo!

Woo Hoo Hooooo!

Debbie just hit the wall
She never had it all
One Prozac a day
Husband's a CPA
Her dreams went out the door
When she turned twenty four
Only been with one man
What happened to her plan?

She was gonna be an actress
She was gonna be a star
She was gonna shake her ass
On the hood of Whitesnake’s car
Her yellow SUV is now the enemy
Looks at her average life
And nothing has been
Alright!

Since Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that shes uncool
'Cause she's still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woo Hoo Hooooo!
(1985)
Woo Hoo Hooooo!

She’s seen all the classics
She knows every line
Breakfast Club
, Pretty In Pink
Even St. Elmo's Fire
She rocked out to Wham!
Not a big Limp Bizkit fan
Thought she'd get a hand
On a member of Duran Duran

Where's the mini-skirt made of snakeskin?
And who's the other guy that's singing in Van Halen?
When did reality become T.V.?
What ever happened to sitcoms, game shows or on
the radio was?

Springsteen, Madonna
way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that shes uncool
'Cause she's still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woo Hoo Hooooo!

Music----------

She hates time; make it stop
When did Motley Crue become classic rock? (classic rock)
And when did Ozzy become an actor?
Please make this stop, stop, stop! (tick tick tick tick tick tick)

And bring back Springsteen, Madonna
way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that shes uncool
'Cause she's still preoccupied
1985

Woo Hoo Hooooo!

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana (1985)
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV (1985) (Woohoohoo)
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that shes uncool (1985)
'Cause she is still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

I'm too lazy to go find and/or type out the lyrics.

Breakaway, by Kelly Clarkson I really loved until they played it to death.
I'm Still Here, by John Rzenick. For whatever reason I feel like this is almost my theme song, even if it is a bit angsty.
Cold, by Crossfade is the song I like to be all crazy and swing my hair around and stuff to.
When I'm Sixty-Four, by The Beatles always makes me happy.
Holiday, by Green Day is fun to do all the drum playing and I always yell "AMEN!" and pump my fist in the air.
Getting Harder to Breathe, by Maroon 5 is one of those songs that I just have to sing along and dance to whenever it comes on.
Got YWS?

Eleanor Rigby says...

Ah, let me see . . . I can think of two off the top of my head . . . Obviously, my namesake Eleanor Rigby, and probably a song that not many people have heard of. It's called Fireworks and it's by the Tragically Hip. It's a very canadian song  Oooo, and also Hotel California, byt the Eagles, but I won't put the lyrics, it's too long.

Eleanor Rigby

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in a church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon the no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in a church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved.

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

Fireworks

If there's a goal that everyone remembers it was back in ol' 72
We all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger
And all I remember was sitting beside you
You said you didn't give a fuck about hockey
And I never saw someone say that before
You held my hand and we walked home the long way
You were loosening my grip on Bobby Orr

Isn't it amazing anything's accomplished
When the little sensation gets in your way
Not one ambition whisperin' over your shoulder
Isn't it amazing you can do anything

We hung out together every single moment
Cause that's what we though married people do
Complete with the grip of artificial chaos
And believing in the country of me and you
Crisis of faith and crisis in the Kremlin
And yea we'd heard all of that before
It's wintertime, the house is solitude with options
And loosening the grip on a fake cold war
Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish

When you don't let the nation get in your way
No ambition whisperin' over your shoulder
Isn't it amazing you can do anything

Next to your comrades in the national fitness program
Caught in some eternal flexed-arm hang
Droppin' to the mat in a fit of laughter
Showed no patience, tollerence or restraint

Fireworks exploding in the distance
Temporary towers soar
Fireworks emulating heaven
Til there are no stars anymore
Fireworks aiming straight at heaven
Temporary towers soar
Til there are no stars shining up in heaven
Til there are no stars anymore

Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish
When the little sensation gets in your way
No ambition whisperin' over your shoulder
Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish, eh
This one thing probably never goes away
I think this one thing is always supposed to stay
This one thing doesn't have to go away

(You don't get much more canadian than the Tragically Hip)
words, language - what wonderous
creatures these beings are,
what joyous routes of sorrow and
longing they pave.

 "Which to bury; Us or the Hatchet" By Relient K

I think you know what I'm getting at
I find it so upsetting that
the memories that you select you keep the bad but the good you just forget

and even though I'm angry I can still say
I know my heart will break the day
when you peel out and drive away
I can't believe this happened

And all this time I never thought
that all we had would be all for naught

No, I don't hate you
don't want to fight you
know I'll always love you
but right now I just don't like you
No, I don't hate you
don't want to fight you
know I'll always love you
but right now I just don't like you
cause you took this too far

Make your decision and don't you dare think twice
go with your instincts along with some bad advice
this didn't turn out the way I thought it would at all
you blame me but some of this is still your fault

I tried to move you, but you just wouldn't budge
I tried to hold your hand but you'd rather hold your grudge
I think you know what I'm getting at
you said goodbye and I just don't want you regretting that

and wisdom always chooses
these black eyes and these bruises
over the heartache that they say
never completely goes away
(I just can't believe this happened
and one day we'll see this come around)

what happened to us
i heard that it's me we should blame
what happened to us
why didn't you stop me from turning out this way
and know that I don't hate you
and know that I don't want to fight you
and know that I'll always love you
but right now I just don't...

Californonacation- Red Hot Chille Pepper

Cadiac Arrest-Madness

Night Boat to Cairo-Madness
It's just gone noon
Half past monsoon
On the banks of the river Nile
Here comes the boat
Only half-afloat
Oarsman grins a toothless smile
Only just one more
To this desolate shore
Last boat along the river Nile
Doesn't seem to care
No more wind in his hair
As he reaches his last half mile
The oar snaps in his hand
Before he reaches dry land
But the sound doesn't deafen his smile
Just pokes at wet sand
With an oar in his hand
Floats off down the river Nile
Floats off down the river Nile

(All aboard, night boat to Cairo!)

(Night boat to Cairo!)

Shame an Scandle_Madness
Down in Trinidad
There was family
With much confusion as you will see
A mamma and a papa and a boy, who had grown,
He wanted to marry and have a wife of his own.

He found a girl,
She suited him nice.
He went to his father
To ask his advice

His father said son I’ll have to say “no”
The girl is your sister but your mamma don’t know

I say oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family
Oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family

On then the weeks went bye
Then the summer came down
Soon the best girl on the island he found
He went to his papa to make it a date
His pap shook his head and to this he did say
“You can’t marry that girl I’ll have to say ‘no’
Because the girl is your sister but your mammas don’t know”

Oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family
I say oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family

Ohhh
He went to his mamma
He covered his head
He told his mum what he’s father had said

His mother she laughed
She said “go man go
Your daddy ain’t your daddy but your daddy don’t know”

Oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family
I say oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family
Oh. Misery. Shame and scandal in the family

Bad Day-David Powter

I Predict a Riot-Kaiser Chiefs

That will do for now tell some more later
We get off to the rhythm of the trigger and destruction. Fallujah to New Orleans with impunity to kill. We are the hidden fist of the free market.
We are the ink, we are the quill.
