Lumi's moment of rest is halted by a sudden ethereal whisper. As the red sun blinks farewell on the horizon line, he pulls his cloak tighter around his shoulders. "Omnibus, I believe I may need your healing..."
Lumi turns and sees the vaporous being coalescing from dark matter and dust, tendrils whipping at the air, seemingly weightless and manipulated by their own gravity. Lumi raises his iron gauntlets to his lips, breathing onto them. As the whispering grows louder, he rips a long portion of his cloak and bandages the wounds on his face, leaving his eyes unobstructed.

I was suddenly more claustrophobic than I'd ever been before. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, and followed Fiend.

so I learned a trick. You'll notice some objects are much smoother and generally more awesome now.
The sun is devoured by the hungry serpent of night. It opens its maw and vomits forth darkness. Silently, with no face or sight, the Shades step into the world of the living and strike.
six shadowy tendrils surge forward towards lumi, who must dodge the barrage quickly, lest he is impaled.
the goblin counters lost's attempt with ferocity, stepping forward and slashing towards her head.
"HOY!"
the yell belongs to a new voice. a pink-haired, caped woman, wielding an impossibly tall scythe, steps forward.
"are you trying to get yourself killed?" she calls to lost. "you can't handle two shades on your own!" then she turns to the specter, "you there! over here!"
audy seals the hole and begins widening it. the others move. fiend returns to his magus form.
judas' grasp of darkness knocks the spider back into the tunnel it came from, and also tears away the dirt in its path.
I need to find a way to preserve quality when uploading to yws… I'll try zooming a bit more next update

Lumi would be shaking in his boots if he weren't being assaulted--and by assaulted, he probably means murdered. With each attempted counterstrike, Lumi barks at Omnibus: "DON'T! STOP! HEALING! ME!"

Omnibus flies high into the air to avoid the battle going on between Lumi and the Dark figure that held enough hatred in its heart enough to swallow the both of them. Prepping another Healing Touch, as Lumi demanded more and more attention, he felt his reserves on magic failing.
if the Shade could understand bewilderment, it would be scratching its head. Perplexed, its massive attack was stopped by a single fist.
Lumi frowned. "You came to the wrong stretch of forest."
Meanwhile, the goblin, seemingly inspired -- or terrified -- by Lost's words, lunged forward, striking at the Shade. It countered lazily, but the goblin was quick to block with its shield. To the surprise of the Shade, it held. Only one tentacle managed to sneak through and scratch it.
Backing her newfound comrade, Lost struck at the Shade, which moved back quickly, but not quickly enough -- the tip of one of her blades scratched it. Black blood oozed out slowly.
The third Shade answered the scythe-woman's provocation, striking. With alarming quickness however, its foe dodged all the tentacles nimbly and struck with a powerful uppercut, launching the Shade in the air.
The forest stirs. The trees have smelled blood.
audy continues widening the tunnel. shady and alpha move west, fiend and judas move east slightly.
you guys have no idea how many natural sixes were rolled in this update. like holy sheisse.
