Yeah - my sketches :).

I'm planning on just drawing loads, until I eventually get good(ish) at it 8).

So - to start off, here are five (random) drawings...

Image
This is... a face. A girl.
I can only draw girl faces in this style for some odd reason. Even when I draw myself, I end up looking like a girl.
Hm...

Image
Urgh... I'm not to sure what this is...

Image
I wouldn't have included this, but I kind of like the face...
I call this picture, 'Long Neck'.

Image
You know... I don't really like this. Mainly cos the body looks terrible.

Image
Dino dino dino dino!

Well, I meant portrait like pictures of only the face.

I can do both genders with other types of drawing.

The one you said you didnt like, is better than the one above it, mainly because you made it seem like you wanted it like that.

Bold lines, and squareness.

Though anatomy... I can go into specifics and how to fix the flaws, but thatd ruin everyones day.

I added in the bold lines, last minute, to try and make it look a little better.
I don't like cos of the way of the head isn't in line with the legs.

I like the curviness of the one above it 8).

Anyways, I'm currently searching for an online tutorial on anatomy - I don't suppose you know of any?

Well, (lets put aside our differences in that Abortion topic, Im having rather ill feeling right now) a good idea should be to make a "presketch", its literal in its meaning, which is just draw a basic outline lightly.

Infact to go even deeper draw a proportionate stick figure. Proportion and Anatomy are different.

A proportional stick figure is like the skeleton of the human body, the spine, head, shoulders, arms, hands, waist, legs, feet.

Remember all those, now the joints include the elbow, neck, shoulders, wrists, waist, knees, and ankles.

[reserved for picture]

A good way to memorize the torso for example, is just a short sleeve shirt. 3 dimensional of course.

The ribs do not bend shape (duh), the spine can move though, remember that, just not to extreme angles. (look in a mirror!)
Humans are made of curves. (Even if you have a blocky style, curvature should be shown, Ive seen someone with an extremely blocky style but you just cant put your finger on it).

Eh... a picture is worth more than this text.

hmmm... I don't know what to say... Erm... You have a really individual style, and I think that, on top of trying to hone that tyle to have it look nicer, you might try to find the strengths in that style, mayube use that blockiness to find a better way to present shape and composition. Otherwise, it might not improve much. You need to get into detail too. You've got shape down, mainly, proportion not so much, but if you were to pay some closer attention to the details of those shapes, I'm certain you could really get somewhere.

Keep practicing, Surreal. My earlier work looked a lot like that. (Yah I know I haven't posted any work here yet, i'm getting there)
So I'm a little left of center, I'm a little out of tune. Some say I'm paranormal, so I just bend their spoon.
Who wants to be ordinary, in a crazy mixed up world? I don't care what they're saying, as long as I'm your girl.
